Okay, played about 40 minutes of the demo. I already own HH1 and it was just an 'ok' game so when I saw the graphics for HH2, I was eager to try it out. Well this is possibly the second out of over 100 games I've bought here where I ran into problems.

The first was getting a blank screen with the menu on the right with nothing in the list. I backed out and went in again but then the only thing I could see to do (still no items in the list) was click on the sparkly part of the register. So here I am in the register section with no keys to make an impression. Hardy HOG that I am , I started a new game with a different name and I finally got into the game play.

I liked the game although it is a little glitchy. The flow isn't entirely seamless, I missed some dialog and got a flash of a blank screen when the agent moved to the right and there was a guy hiding around the corner on the left. Small things like that keep games from entering my A-list although I do get my money's worth at $6.99 so I'm not going to pass it up.

I'm sure I'll be buying it in the morning when my eyes are better rested. It'll be a nice one to kill the weekend.

I'm having problems with the cursor (hit and miss if its visible, and when it is it flickers, and occasionally has a box round it), even if I turn 3D hardware off (no specific 'custom cursor' option). Unfortunately, I can't even toggle to windowed mode (the usual fix for this) - it did at first, but now its refusing to switch, telling me my screen resolution isn't high enough for windowed (1280x800 - which may not be perfect, but if i hide the taskbar, i can move the window enough to see the screen perfectly, so not sure why they're complaining).

Looks like it could be a fun game, but at this rate I'm going to have to just call it a wash-out

PS. What's with this insistence on only ever having profile names of 7 characters, or less - never mind those games which don't allow a hyphen, but with this game (as some others) i end up having to be 'AnnMari' .... personally, I'd rather name my profile correctly - Ann-Marie (or Elkestra if need be, but even that is 8 letters)

Thanks everyone for comments
For everyone who read the story - after (or even before) completing the game try to think why the sequel is called "Believe the Lies"

Waiting for most of people to finish the game so I can discus with you the story and answer some your questions. Because some things and texts were cut during development and I don't want to publish them now to not spoiler

In this game we tried to bring you the new experience thats why we dont have repeating rooms or hallways. Game's flow tries to drive you through the story and its locations along with FBI agent. Yes,Inventory was made because its popular now and we trying to bring the best for our player. Our team is always working on new ideas and projects and considering the period of developing we should think far ahead about gameplay (for example it was only few good adventure games with inventory when we started to plan HH2)

I don't remember why I didn't buy the first one. Will have to download it again I suppose.

I played the demo for 15 minutes and bought it. I hope that it doesn't turn out to be too short. So far I like it very much. I think this is the first HO game I've seen where "balloon" was a balloon that wasn't blown up yet - nice! I've only had to use a hint once, because the bracelet looked like a magnifying glass to me, but there were lots of items hidden in plain sight that took me a while to spot. The items are NOT too small - hallelujah!!!! There's no timer! There appears to be no click penalty either, so when I got stuck at one of the "use an inventory item" stages, I could just click around as long as I liked.

edit: ok this is annoying. When I leave the game in full screen mode, I can switch to windowed mode just fine. When I exit the game in windowed mode, it is in full screen mode when I return, and will NOT allow me to change to windowed - says my resolution isn't large enough for it to fit. I'm running 1280x800. I do not like playing in full screen mode, because I like to minimize the game while I deal with emails and IMs, etc.

Played the demo and I liked it too. No timer, the items aren't so small you get eye strain from hunting them. I liked the two mini games alot. I've only made it passed room 13 which is the second room so the game can't be that short. I liked that ballon thing too, took me awhile to find it. I didn't have any problem playing so far, no clitches or black screens and I haven't found the game boring. I appreciate the fact you care enough about your game to come in and see what we think, thanks! If I found anything i didn't like so far it was the music, give me country and whats up with the irratating radio (computer?) static. I clicked on everything to see if I could tune it in or turn it off. I give this demo a thumbs up and will purchase for sure.

I don't understand why this is taking such a long time to download. RTR did not take this long. So, now I'm worried that I might have problems playing. Keeping fins crossed !!

I've been downloading this game for a half hour now and it's at 56%. I have dsl and games have always downloaded quickly for me. But I've had this problem downloading games quite a bit lately. Games that should take a few minutes are taking up to an hour. The only major change with my computer is that I switched to Firefox after the IE debacle. Ever since, it takes forever to download games. I can't say for sure that's the connection, but the two things do coincide.

Well I have been waiting for a good Ho game for awhile. I do like this game, or what I can play of it.... first time I tried to play I got black screen & had to shut down. 2nd time went through first scene at reception desk & then got same error as everyone is getting. 3rd time I tried (& it did not save game) started over., made past reception desk & second room hacked the computer & error came up again & game shut down! Tried a 4th time Game starts all over did'nt save & I am frustrated! So I came here to see what everyone else is saying.
How are y'all getting past the error message?? Any suggestions??? I'd really appreciate it. I was so hopeing for a good game to play today after getting home from hospital.. P.S It also took a long time to download. I have high speed cable dsl. I saw few others comment on that.
Please help me if you can!!! Thankyou in advance

Right now, you can click out of a cut scene after waiting 9 seconds.

lordkalvan wrote:I would really really appreciate an option on the main menu to replay each of my minigames without having to redo the entire game. This will please those who love the minigames.

I really like this idea, and I'm not sure why we didn't do it. Some of the minigames won't make sense without the story. Perhaps as an un-lockable achievement for finishing the game?

midnight1864 wrote:I have high speed cable dsl...

The BFG servers have been getting laggy all morning. It took me 30 seconds to login to the forums when it usually takes less than 5.

About your error messages, we have a fix in the pipeline. I can't promise anything, but I've heard that Monday will see a new build.

Sometimes a spyware or adware infection will slow down your connection. Even though you aren't directly using IE, explorer still runs a lot of pieces of your computer (including your desktop).

Generally speaking, it's good to run a Spyware/Adware remover tool on your computer from time to time. BFG GAMES ARE CERTIFIED ADWARE FREE, but that doesn't mean that something else you or a family member downloaded is causing problems.

I run spyware/adware *very* frequently, so that is unlikely to be it. Also I am the only one to use this computer, hubby and kids use the other one, and I am very cautious what I download and where I go. I'm going to begin downloading games using IE rather than Firefox and see if there is any improvement in download times.

A BIG thankyou to PCkiller!! That did work & I was able to play & finish the game. I think it is Awesome that y'all are in the forums swiming around & taking in our feedback & replying to us personally!! Very good for customer service!
Thanks to picman for the heads up on the biggest download day ever!!(explaining why the download was so slow)
As for the game I did like it, graphics were good music a little glitchy & all the coughing & heavy breathing was a bit much. It was rather short I found myself wishing the game wasn't over & wanting to go on). That would be a good thing for the developers," always leave em wanting more!" I was dissapointed in the story line,or lack there of... I thought that could have been done better. Mini games a bit on the easy side, I like a bit more of a challenge. There were so many items in all the rooms, I wonder why we had to keep looking for the same items over & over. Nice twist on the "cones" Liked the opening scene. Dug the car & the play on " Plymoth" (Plymouth)
All & all a good game, I dont feel there is any replayability, as nothing changes. but for 6.99. Not a bad deal.
I'm looking forawrd to the sequel!

I have a bent hose and they say to put it next to the air intake and I don't know where the air intake is. I've never worked on a car before lol , It also keeps telling me I need a clamp but don't know where to get it. I need some help with this car in the worst way.
Can someone any one please help me. thank you in advance for your help.

PM'd you the answer. Hope it helps

Edit: looks like one of the developers got there first

We sort of use the mechanic from Azada where you move your mouse over the screen slowly to find a spot to interact with. The engine is the most complex puzzle with this mechanic in the game. Normally I wouldn't spoil the game like this, but not knowing how an engine should look puts a person at a disadvantage as the possible combinations for item/active spots is something like 25 (lol, I'm tired).

Whilst for long posts, I agree up to a point, for short posts - such as answering a specific problem - it actually makes things a lot more legible (and helps the requestee find any specific response to their query).

Its not exactly difficult to skim past the boxed and italicised quote to the response. For extremely long posts though, sometimes the scroll overkill does cause a bit more hassle.

Since I was really in need of a game today, I bought HH2. After 4 tries with the access violation errors partially within the game, I thought I had finally gotten it to work. But to my dismay, I was very close to the end and boom....had to start over once again, since it seems as though the game does not save your progress. I did notice that sometimes the storyline did not run and other times it did, which really doesn't bother me but there really are some major problems with this game. I was able to actually finish the game in just about an hour once I finally got it working. Ending stinks....makes your believe you have another level left and then BOOM......Game Over. All in all, most of you gamers can probably finish this game during the free hour, unless your desperate for a game....not worth buying.

I doubt I'll buy this game because I'm having such a hard time playing the demo. It wouldn't allow me to click on any of the objects in the professor's room, and when I closed out and came back in I was at the door with the key card but nothing in the inventory or list. The hints kept telling me to find a clue in the room, but couldn't get into the room. I've spent most of the 60 minutes going out and coming back into the game. When I first went into the professor's room there was nothing in the list, so had to go out and come back. Really don't have an idea if I'd like this game or not because I can't play the demo. I see a lot of other people with the same problem, but don't see anywhere BFG has given us a solution. I have a new computer, meets all the requirements, keep my computer cleaned up from adware, everything updated, so it has to be the game since so many are having the problems.
I buy a lot of games, but don't think it will be this one unless they get it fixed in a hurry.

Hey everyone!

I'd like to THANK YOU ALL for comments and feedback! For everything you say, good and bad. For taking your time to come here and let us know what you think! Cause most people just pass by... Feedback from players is what we want the most! It helps a lot.

Thanks to this forum now we know our weak sides. We know what you want and we can focus on this in our future games.

Now we know that our next games should last longer and have more replay value.

Also I'd like to thank BFG for creating such place where we can come and find out what our gamers think and want.

We are still working on this game. And we are trying to fix everything that is possible to make this game good!

We've worked for 8 month 12-15 hours a day, so we just can't let it go. And we will do everything we can to support this game.

Thanks again everyone!

Thanks Pdkiller! I am glad to also have feedback from the game developers. I think that often we, the players, don't think about all the work that goes into making these games. I know that you do your best to make good games and I appreciate the hard work. I look forward to the "fixes" and more importantly to part 3 of this game.

I am now nearing the end of the game. I have only one major problem with it. The objects seem to have gotten smaller and smaller as the game progressed. Now I find myself doing a lot of random clicking because I just can't see some of the items. This makes the lack of a timer and the Hints a very good thing for me. I like being able to skip puzzles if I really get stuck. The only puzzle I skipped so far was hotwiring the car, just didn't get it. Overall, a very good game!

I'm sure I'm not the only "gotum all and still love them" MCF fan. Just asking, looked around and wasn't sure where to present the ?. Thanks

Maybe you should start a new thread for this question if there isn't already one. I'd like to know the answer too. Also, there is a MCF for cell phones. I have it, can't recall the name. I feel cheated too because the description of the game said nothing about needing an internet connection so I can't play the game because I cannot afford to add an internet connection to my phone service

Started one. Thanks for the suggestion. I can be a little bit of a "duh" at times. It would be great if you could drop in and give it your vote. Maybe...
