Syberia Anyone having problems?!?!?!?

I already had the drivers up to date, also directx and everything that was said here,and it happened the same, not in the egg scene but it crasehd when crossing the bridge or getting into the train after the egg scene . I meant that's the only thing that worked for me. Of course the best is to try everything before doing that.

Yes! I too am having problems with it! I have done everything they suggested and I still can't get past the eagle. It just crashes on me when I go back down the ladder! And by the by...how do I get the darn egg when it quits crashing on me!?!? LOL I can't seem to figure that part out! Maybe It's cause it keeps crashing in that area and won't let me look further? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Hi - I had the same problem also. I believe I re-booted my computer, exited my anti-virus & spyware & camera which runs in the background, re-started the game from the last save (which was quite a bit before the problem area) & all was fine. As for the egg- Talk to Prof. Pons, give him the mammoth doll to study & he will go back to his lab. Follow him & look for a test tube holder. You will use this to get the egg. He will also ask you to attend his lecture & after the lecture he will return the mammoth doll. After the problem I SAVED OFTEN although I had no further problems. Hope this helped.

YEP! MINE CRASHED ON ME LAST NIGHT AT THE SAME SPOT!! WHAT DO i DO NOW?? THIS STINKS!! I REALLY WONT TO PLAY THIS GAME

This is a really good game & it sucks that there are problem areas like this. I hate to repeat what other people have said & what I'm sure you know, but it's really important that your video drivers are up to date & I always let each game install the directx that's bundled with the game (usually it's ver 9.0c) any way, which is the current version. I guess I was lucky when it happened to me. Make sure nothing is running in the background (firewall, anti-virus, spyware, etc). Also, when I re-booted I didn't use "restart", I shut it down for a minute or so, restarted, & removed all background programs, I believe I even turned off my printer icon in the taskbar along with the printer itself, so nothing but the main essentials were running. After doing this the game was fine. Hope you get it all sorted out because it's a great game & so is the second one. By the way I had no problems anywhere with the second one. Something else, if you plan to try Diamon Jones:Amulet of the world, there is an audio problem on some systems that chops the dialogue off near the end of each sentence. Solution- it's a Java issue. Just go to their site (sun.com) or sun systems, not sure & go to their archive section & download ver 1.4.2_08 & the game runs perfectly fine. Hope you get it going.

Well, it was doing that for me too, but after I went to Nvidia and updated my drivers to the latest ones, it worked. If you've already done that and it isn't helping, are you playing on a laptop? Because sometimes even the drivers at the laptop manufacturer's website aren't really the best ones to use. Google laptop drivers and there are sites where you can actually get the most current drivers that will work with your particular video/graphics chip.

I had the same problem with the screen going black after I tried to take the cukcoo's egg. Went to online chat with tech support and after trying several suggestions that didn't help I was given a credit for a new game.
Think this is a Frogware game problem...as I am now having trouble with Journey to the Center of the Earth.

I find it very interesting that the bugs haven't been worked out yet. It's now July 27, 2009!

wow, i just read about the same issue coming up again and again, for six pages, sigh, it is august now, and as far as i can tell, since january 09 we have all had the same problem - as you have all had, well now it is my turn, as she gets the f%*&*ng egg and comes down the ladder to go back to the square boom, died, so i updated drivers, etc and low and behold, died, again, as one person did, off goes puter and i get cleaning and tending to living stuff that i am ignoring while i am playing this (up til now) awsome game - come back, start again, and boom, black screen.
why is it that eight months have passed and a patch or other type of fix has not been offered when a new person like me downloads this game??? this is insane, i have already had my fill of problems with Omega Stone, riddle of the sphinx, which also dies at specific places and sigh, no patch. i am getting pretty pissed at BigFish over these types of simple repair huge frustration problems with their games. has anyone had luck getting a credit when finishing a game is impossible because of crashes? should i even try? i am at my wits end over this. does this imply that i must do a back ground check on all games prior to buying them to check for bugs and problems? sigh, this is silly. BF ought not put up a game that has such glaringly obvious programming issues. six pages of people all having the same problem with this game, BF should have put up a warning or preface to the download aobut it since it is so prevalent. sigh, frustrated and pissed off...

I should have checked this forum before buying Syberia. Unfortunately, I fell in with the graphics and decided to buy first. BIG MISTAKE!

I find it really hard to believe that a game that was released back in September (January for ) is still having the same problems over and over. I downloaded July 2nd and this version (if it IS a different version? ) is having the same problems as all of you. No game saving is the worst! I've started 5 times and the farthest I've gotten is to the church; enters the church, disappears, and game just sits there.

I've upgraded everything, sent an e-mail to along with a dxdiag and received 1 e-mail back saying that I've done everything. They gave me a free game coupon which makes up for the hastle but I was soooo looking forward to playing this game.

EDIT: Reinstalled and with instructions in another thread for saving game progress, have been able to get to first destination on the train with only 1 lock-up. It happened after leaving the cave when receiving the phone call. Unfortunately, that one caused me to have to shut down my PC because CTL+ALT+DEL did not work. And even tho the mouse is hard-coded for right-handed people, I am really enjoying the game!

Want to buy game but don't want to go through the problems everyone else is having. Last post on here was amost a month ago, does anyone know if the problems still exist or not??? Don't want to waste my game credit if it still has problems.

I'm having this problem, and I just downloaded the game. My boyfriend is a programmer and says it's a memory leak, and the game was coded wrong. I haven't been able to fix it, but apparently some people have. I have no idea, but I'm upset.

Insanewife, I just dropped in to let you know that I bought this game in August this year & had zero problems with glitches, so go for it!

My future with this game is black. Everything on my screen went black, I couldn't save anything!!!!

I can't get back on the game after leaving it. Also my screen goes black sometimes. How do I save the game after I play awhile. Please help me I am 72 years old and can't seem to get this game. I won't let it defeat me. I play all kinds of games on here, but this one has me stumped. Please help me.
