Installed demo, I get a blank screen with this error message:
Assertion failed in file ".\Common\Actor.cpp", line 611: Negative timeDelta
I have no idea what this means, but I can't play

I found out the problem was my Avast antivirus. I have been having problems with it and so I uninstalled it. I was able to run the game after that without problems. I am going to buy it right now...It's a very good game!

I installed the demo. When I try to play, I get a black screen with the following error message:
Panic error in file. "\NovaSources\Platforms\Win32\Win32DX8Device.cpp", line 155: Failed to reset D3D device
I have Windows XP Professional and DirectX 9.0. I also tried disabling my antivirus software but that didn't help.
UPDATED: I emailed this technical issue to BFG Customer Support.

game downloaded fine. When started playing it slowed down, tried changing cursor but it made it worse.

I spoke too soon. I can play but it freezes a lot. When I tried to combine the shovel and handle, it froze with the same error message:

I'm having issues with the game saving my spot. I'm not sure what to do.

Tying the game.
from grave site went to the houses when done there the ghost appears and a message comes up to go back to the grave site. but it won't let me go to another site.. the ghost keeps appearing. Won't let me go anywhere.
I tried to uninstall and then reinstall but same problem.

Ok Done trying keeps telling me that need to go back to the statue but ghost keeps showing and won't let me go to another location. Unless I'm missing something????
really like the game, very disappointing.

Got to the point of using the rail spike in the dungeon. Got this message:
MM2Engine/Location.lua:281: Location  eplaceStandByItem()  tand-In for item 'Railroad Spike' not found
This has happened twice and the game freezes completely. HELP! I am loving the game and really want to finish

If you are getting an error that reads "Assertion Failed" you may want to check for updates to your Direct X. Here is a link to our help article with more information on these updates.
Direct X Updates
You may also want to try checking for any Microsoft or Adobe updates that may help with some of these errors as well, which you can check out in our help article below.
Scripting Errors
If you are experiencing any save errors, you will need to be signed into your computer as administrator or run the game as administrator. For steps on how to do this check out our article on Save Errors.
If you are still having issues after these updates you can always contact Customer Support by clicking on the green envelope  to the right of the screen, and then clicking "Contact Us" at the bottom left of the next page.

just bought this game and it wont play!!! getting a windows exe error message advising that need for updates could be problem but all updates are up to date?
Any help for a technophobe?

I cannot get the game to run on my computer, either. It is doing exactly what Eden's Quest did. I get an error message that I have an "app crash", and I can't get rid of the open game without shutting down the computer. Task manager does NOT indicate that the game is running, but the BFG games manager says it is.
In the case of Eden's Quest, they never did get the game to run for me, though they were nice enough to give me a credit for my trouble. But isn't it funny that when the game was released at other sites, I was able to download and play (and buy, of course) it without a glitch?

I justtried to download the "Stratergy Guide" for this game and it never could load the try it feature. So, I purchased it, and now it continually says there a problem in big fish and it must be shut down. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Hello,
When the ghosts appear you must talk with them to get info or supply them with something in your inventory.

Mine downloaded fine but when I try to play I get a windows message that says the game stopped working. I tried everything they suggestion on the page with game crashing etc but no luck  contacted customer support but I'm sure I'll have to wait til monday for that.
Every other game I have bought play fine and I know my computer is up for the game I have MCF Dire Grove etc and play other very highly memory and vid card intensive mmorpgs online.
Anyone have any suggestions? I really want to play this one.

I have Windows 7--I installed the trial version of this game and had no problems playing but after I purchased the game I installed the full version and now I have no sound. So I uninstalled and re installed and still no sound-I checked options and all sounds are up to the full volume and my computer is also at full volume--can anyone help?
