I hope it's just the one answer (i.e., the soul) for all three "it"s. This might take forever otherwise!

Sorry Momo!

W ithe Hooch, could it be shadows? Much artwork is considered a balance between light and shadow.

Cassat- only a basic knowledge about her but I remember the reason she kept moving was to find proper art teachers as women were denied entry into most of the established art schools/Salons. I think she also beacame an art advisor to a wealthy couple helping them choose their collection. So would Art or Talent or Education work?

Chidi I am not at all familiar with- will have to do some checking
(He got frostbite in Vancouver? Really? due to the rain factor most people just rust!)

I think the "skip" hint is skip a generation or skip around in time. I think the understanding "it" refers to figuring out who the ???? soul is on the meter at the end of RTR. Perhaps the mad scientist "created" Victor from Charles' DNA. Maybe he's a clone.

Hooch swept aside darkness.

Cassatt combed the word to capture acceptance.

Life was such a vision to behold that Chidi could not help but be inspired by the dance.

dogmama wrote:Solice! Would you like the weekend off ? Here's a suggestion. Today place three screen shots somewhere on the web. Three different places would be good. Put three Easter Egg clues (hard ones to find and solve would take us more time) somewhere on the BFG web site and then let us know that they can be found. They will be "self-rewarding" clues that you won't have to acknowledge as we will find the screen shots. Then the detectives can analyze them for the rest of the weekend .

dogmama, what a fantastic idea!

Cassatts painting of mother combing [color=#000000] a childs hair was painted in 1879.Do the dates have any significance you think?Probably not just throwing that out there.

edited to add:Forget I wrote that.I forgot that Chidi is a newer artist

This is almost like the steps to the grieving process.

Anybody else notice that all the artists have 2 vowels that are the same? Don't think it has anything to do with anything, just pointing it out.

The problem here is that there have been many answers to yesterday's clue, some of them are more correct than others so its hard to verify if you are on the right track. (Some answers in this thread are most definitely on the right track if that helps.)

As for another clue, it sounds like it was already discovered. In a white coat and all!
(REFERRING TO PICS FOUND ON THE BIGFISHGAMES FACEBOOK PAGE)

I copied the above from GameLvr30's updated post on page 44...the statement is from Solice....just in case some people missed the update. Let the drinks be poured

Nissiah wrote:is solice just going to let us keep guessing about the artists' clue and not reveal the answer?

i have not been on these threads in previous years.

do the vague riddles ever get answered or does solice expect us ALL to come to an agreement on what the answer is before she says WRONG!

Nissiah, see Solice's post on pg 47...GameLvr30 updated the clues on pg 44

I'm wondering if the Chidi answer is something like "the moon."

"Look up to the moon and sacred mountains of the sky" The rest of the Healing Dance poem refers to other senses, like hearing and touch.

If that is true, perhaps the other two answers are elements as well, or other words related to night or day. For a while, I was thinking of a "Dark Side of the Moon" idea, but while "dark" fits the first clue, "side" doesn't fit the second.

Solice, can we at least get confirmation that we're talking about the three artists here, and not, say, the dog or the Harry Potter character?

LOL...

Chidi also has a piece titled "Before the Throne of Grace."

This is kind of like what happened last year with the Latin Dance clue. Where it was a red herring and meant nothing, but with enough digging, someone ended up coming up with Macguffin as the answer.

Point is, I'm sure if we dig enough, we'll find some brilliant way to make all these things fit. Only this time, we'll probably be totally wrong.

You are on the right trail, you have the painters identified and your research is leading you down the right path. In fact you are doing really well.
There is no getting anything over you. You are all far too smart.

They are three different words, right Mr-Russ?
I think it's more likely but only Solice knows the answer to that.

awkswan wrote:It wouldn't necessarily have to be a one-word answer, though.
I suppose not, but I would just use "the bond" from your example.

Did de Hooch really sweep away the darkness? Seems to me he swept away the light and let the darkness into himself. Vene went so far as to live in the poorest sections of town before he entered the asylum.

You may be onto something with this. When you take all the double letters they form the word HOIST.

The other speculation I had is this sounds like they may be referring to the Dorian Grey type of story. Maybe one of Charles's paintings contains his soul. We just haven't found it yet to destroy it.
