To Paul Thelen at Big Fish

[Post New]by Czoe on Apr 17, 18 12:35 AM
Please, as a fellow (former to you) Minnesotan, please don't end the MC forums.

It is not just for amusement, but YOU created a monster in that so many people are connected through this game in a positive, life enhancing way.

Understood how internet quandaries make things difficult. S p a m and such, but you people are supposed to be on the cutting edge and on top of this,... no?

I know you must have compassion.

I do not ask it for myself, as I am powerful in my own small right, but I plea for you to be just.

That's not the issue.

As sad as it is, I believe it's not just the forums that are closing down. I have a feeling Big Fish Games will soon be going in a very different direction.

Churchill Downs recently sold Big Fish Games to Aristocrat Technologies which is a social online casino company. There's no guarantee that Aristocrat will continue the format which has been Big Fish Games' model. It will likely just become a gambling site. Would they have paid $990 million for FTP games?

I hope I'm wrong but I think the writing is on the wall.

Very interesting... but as I have said in several other posts, BOYCOTT!

Not that it will make any difference.

Not that it matters to anyone who values wealth over ... well let's start, Humanity? Creatures who are not human? The freaking planet that we live upon?

Globalization of markets, like making an inspired person a millionaire, will only make us all prey to the sharks and barracudas of the world.

I'm on the really low end of being techno connected. This requirement to be more on "the grid" makes me wary, given that our identities are being plundered for political means.

Hi Czoe and siberlene,

To start, I want to thank you both for taking the time to voice your concerns. We understand the deep emotions and worries that can come from an announcement of this nature, and our Moderator Team is dedicated to answering as many questions and concerns as we can over the coming weeks. Please feel free to post such thoughts on the forums or to reach out to an active Moderators by PM for concerns that may more effectively be addressed in private.

I also want to remind our players that we ask communication on the forums to be of a constructive nature, per the guidelines in the /Forum Rules. Speculation of this nature is non-constructive, as it primarily serves to heighten the worries of other players. Although it is true that Big Fish Games was purchased by Aristocrat a few months ago, this had no bearing on the decision to archive the forums on the Big Fish Games site.

I also want to firmly reassure that the changes to the forums are limited to the forums. Midnight Castle will continue to have new content developed for it, and the Big Fish Games site will continue to release great new games every day for our players to enjoy.

Thank you both of your time. As this thread is primarily non-constructive, I'm going to go ahead and lock it. You are both welcome to continue posting in what seems to have been the primary thread for discussion on this subject. This thread is located at the following link:

The BFG forums are closing down!!!

As always, feel free to contact one of our active Moderators with any questions or concerns. We are always happy to lend an ear and offer whatever assistance we can.

bfgArinelle
