I am halfway through the demo...way passed time for bed. When I saw what the offering was for the new game...Snark Busters...hmmm, saw the cartoon like people and I got turned off.
Then I read the reviews and decided to demo it and give it a chance.
Started off with apprehension...kind of dumb, then kind of cute, then clever, then funny.
This game is different. It is fun and it is well done. I have not got into the story line as yet, just where her father has "grounded" her for stealing a police chief's hat.
Will finish the rest of the demo tomorrow, but so far I really like where you have to put things together, humor, clever ideas in the game...such as being in one room and going through the mirror to another room.
I also felt happy in playing this game and I think that is a plus.
I did turn the music off after about 30 minutes...just not my kind to listen to.
I loved all the interaction between items, such as the train, the pillow, the wall scounce, the bow and arrow with suction cup...just clever and fun and funny.
Try the demo...give yourself some time to get into the game....and then judge it after that. Have fun!!!!!!

Yes, the game looks fun, love these original cartoon graphics. The music is fun, kinda cartoony frolicking. Must be a soundtrack for to and fro fro fro. Writing is humorous, just a lighthearted colorful game I usually crave.
Hold on there, it's all fragments. It's all clutch your mouse and click on everything that looks like a part of anything, and sometimes a hand appears when you hover, sometimes not. I clicked on some obscure area and was suddenly thrust into another location with a new set of stuff to find. Hey, I wasn't finished yet with that hammer handle. Then suddenly somewhere else then back to same bedroom. No journal or map at least yet to know where or what I'm doing.
Yep, 23 rave reviews on another site, 4.5 stars and a walkthrough. But wait! 5 pages of posts, players stuck on this math formula to open something, and tips explaining how that nobody gets that either since the numbers are random and different for everyone. Oh oh, more I'm stuck puzzles. All the things that turn me off of FROGS and number puzzles, sure took the air out of my baloon, and I'm sure others here who with me go into a catatonic state. The few actions I did do with completed objects were quite amusing. But after an hour my hand is worn out clicking. At least in HOGS I can only hold the mouse when I see an object then rest it while I eyeball the hunt.
So the demo icon went in my gee I don't know, looked like fun but do I have the stamina and memory to ever finish.
Have 3 holes left to punch I've saved for CE Reincarnations 2 so none of theothersare bought yet. HOlding back.
HEY BF, if you have a Laborday sale I can assure you of "velocity" from my list alone, this would be 7 once my wrist is back to normal.

I almost passed on this one, but downloaded the demo based almost solely on the name (what can I say? I love the word "snark"). LOL I hate HOGs with a passion, and yet here I sit at 6:30am, having played straight through (paused only briefly at the hour mark to cash in a credit ).
What's the difference? Unlike HOGs that are just jumbled up pictures where finding random objects is the whole point, Snark Busters has you find tools and pieces you need to solve the puzzles and move on (I'd rather it be called a puzzle game than an HOG; I pass up HOGs just on the basis of category, but take a second evaluating look at "puzzles"). The storyline is interesting (will we ever find the snark? Who are the mysterious Snark Busters?), graphics are beautiful, music is lively, the interaction between the "real" world and mirror worlds is fantastic...
The balance is just right between "oh, that was easy" and hair-pulling frustration, and when you get to the latter, the Hints button recharges quickly. I love that. Some HOGs show you a silhouette of the object and you have to reason out the shape (ugh); this one shows you the object in color and darkens it as you find pieces - much better! Another fantastic touch is the brown-colored pieces: these are ones you cannot find until you solve a puzzle, open a lock, or do something in another location. It's fabulous to have that visual clue: "Oh, okay, I've found everything I possibly can right now. Time to go do something else and come back later." Otherwise, I would have spent much longer staring bug-eyed at my screen, wondering what I'm missing.
Pretty safe to say I'll be following this series.

Nice design and music. Idea was ok though I didn't feel too thrilled (naughty girl in hunt for a mythical creature through mirrors ain't just that exciting for me right now).
I agree with cleric that the puzzles were far too easy and I also can't see what the big fuzz is all about, at least after the 1h demo.
All in all it is a nice game. I might buy it as a DD.
7/10.

Since this combines my two faves, FROGS and steam punk it's a definite buy for me.

This game is fun! I giggled the entire way through the demo and just love it. Great graphics and no timer, the music is fantastic - one of the few games I don't turn it off. The characters are so fun and the game makes me think, it isn't just mindless "find this thing, find that thing, move on to the next scene" it's all very tied in to the story, the things you're finding. I love the overclick penalty - took me ages to figure out it WAS a penalty! I was clicking on purpose to figure out what I was supposed to do with the things, then realized finally it was an overclick penalty. Very fun!
This is a definite winner for me and now I've bought it I have to get back to playing - see ya later fishies!

On this game I agree totally with puzzledone. It is the first time that I play the whole demo, and have the same opinion.
Developers! - Fracture HOG doesn't mean that you can give me an object fractured to "zillion" parts!!! The pleasure is to find 3-4-max 5 parts of an object.
More than that it is very annoying - I find 9 pieces of the bucket, and have to maneuver quite a lot to find the 10th part. A shovel can't be fractured to 7-8 parts - it pisses me off!
I think that your energy of multi-fracturing is annoying the player, and when I see now a fracture HOG, I think twice if to buy it or not.
Alapeace, for your attention!...
