Dragon Drawing

I'm at the very end in order to shut off the beam and enter the cave I need to use jewels to make a dragon drawing and I'm stuck I can no figure out the placement. So far I have had only one jewel change color and stick.

BoiseDon, welcome to the Fish Pond. What I noticed is that you could very faintly see shadows. I was able to place the larger pink crystals into these shadow pits. as I did so, other smaller shadow pits appeared where in could place the green stones.
...There is a walkthrough on Gamezebo that has a picture of this puzzle. Go to the site and search for the game name. When the links come up, look for the one that has TIPS in the game name.

Cesse47,Tried your suggestion but only one shadow area caused the jewel to change color and stick the rest nothing happened the large red jewels did not change colors and did not stick. I have the Gamezebo drawing and still no luck. getting frustrated,
