Hope I haven't posted twice - got tangled with the virus checker and post didn't seem to go through.
I have vowed, when I play VV again, to make sure I have lots of young Master builders by the time the statue has to be repaired. I had to wait while I trained up Masters
On second game now, going the nature way instead of magic way.
Oh bother - -first post went thru' - Sorry!!

You're kidding, right? I have to get to level 2 of the faction to even make the darn plants show up -- having to S L O W L Y accumulate FIFTY THOUSAND tech points, and THEN have to wait through how many hundred thousand to get to level 3 of alchemy?
Things in this game take toooooo long! They've even increased the infancy time for babies, so that the labor of the mother is lost for ages!
Things in this game just take too long. u right thats insane two things get all ur villagers researching overnight keep making them go and research ull get a bunch of tch points and two hes wrong u wont get hert by usen that plane

The chief's magic food is a great source early in the game, when food is short. The honey is the next source, but the villagers have to be patiently trained to harvest it. And it someone is preset as a builder, he/she won't be eager to harvest honey.
The big tree to the right will soon drop a seed. If the chief picks that up and sows it, then the next source of food will grow.
I get the builders to the adept stage as soon as possible, so that they can repair ther lift, and then get 2 more seeds to sow.
A nice stage is when Level 2 magic or nature is reached, then the anti shark potion can be made, and the fishing stage is reached, then food won't run short. Every villager will soon learn to fish.
This game does have a "fast" option - I could do with 2 x fast!

Teaching villagers ....
If they are well recharged (they are little rechargable machines after all) they will learn new tasks more easily.
I check the health bar frequently. If it is less than 100%, that villager gets extra eats and drinks.

maryc426 wrote:Can someone help this newbe to the game? I am having a heck of a time trying to get the kids to do anything. I can get the younger ones to pick up mushrooms and other things laying about. I can get the farmers and some others to pick up wood and dried grass. Dont know how to light fires, find other food, or anything else. I need alot of help here and some ideas what do I do next to take care of them, or get them to care for themselves. This is my second try...I killed them all off the first try out. I am so lost here and if there is somewhere to go to get some insight on how to do this, it would be very helpful.
Thanks for any help you can give.
I'm kinda new at this too, and wondering if you ever got your answers? The kids only pick up mushrooms, etc, they don't work. Need some wood and then some dried grass, then set one of the villagers near the fire pit (after the wood and dried grass are in) and they'll start a fire. Give each one a job and take them to whatever you want them to do. (Building a hut, harvesting honey, researching) Don't build up the population until you get a good food supply going, that's what I've done wrong a few times. This forum is a good place to get ideas. I'm writing down what's listed here and then going back to try again.

randzimm wrote:all this stuff helped ME a lot but the problem is-how do you build the statuette, build the lift, and get the gem of of the cliff and out of the fire pit? please help me
wee out
The lift requires three Adept Builders and level 2 Restoration.
The Statue requires level 3 Restoration and Leadership, a Chief, a Master Builder to draw the plans on the chalkboard in the Alchemy Lab after the Bath has been completely restored, as many builders as possible and an incredible amount of patience.
The Ash key will become available after 60 continuous Isola hours.
The Hanging Key can be obtained by feeding one of your villagers a potion made with cactus, rose and lotus herbs.
 good luck
