I agree with "censorship" being my responsibility as a parent. That's why my 12 y/o daughter, who actually pays us for each monthly game credit because she wanted BFG back and made the commitment to do so, is unable to open the site until this Redrum fever is over and the opening page is changed.

Without taking the game off the site, so that everyone can indeed purchase what they want, hasn't that picture been up long enough? There could be other places within the site that mature audiences could find these games and pictures, no? Just a suggestion...don't torture me, lol

And it would be interesting to know the philosophy...do the "big fishes" prefer that their site has to be "censored"? Just curious.

Hi everyone else who like me was so cheesed off over the way this game let its subscribers down, just thought it was worth letting everyone know, I complained to BFG over this as I was so annoyed and felt that the game had been designed purely to impress testers over the hour demo and then purchase and be well disappointed, as so many of us have said on this forum, I have got to give it to BFG for their customer service, no quibbles, they gave me a credit for a new game, so you can't say fairer than that, you guys in America should show the UK how to do proper customer service, I was well impressed- so for everyone who felt as I did over RedRum, tell customer service and you may find yourself with another game to pick free. well done BFG for recognising loyal customers, I will continue to buy all my games from you. I guess this was a shift away from the family hidden object stuff hat is getting repetitive now and none of them match up to the #mystery case files series, particularly Ravenhearst, but I am well pleased with BFG cust serv, they could teach the UK a thing or two about recognising custonmer loyalty. I bought six games for the octoberfest not realising you had to buy off certain list, and only 3 games qualified and I would up with a silly magnet when I despwanted the coffee cup, so BFG refunded three games and redrum because I wasn't happy. So get that refund if you weren't happy with the game guys..Helen

I don't have a problem with censorship on privately owned sites. I don't even think it counts as true censorship -- if someone you've invited to your home starts saying things you don't like, you can ask them to leave. Are you censoring them? I think the whole idea of censorship really has gotten out of hand where people don't even understand how it is a good thing to be able to discern things and decide what should and should not be on your site or going on in your home or at the company you own, etc. Censorship is only a problem when it is public and violating the First Amendment, which no private site can do, anyway.

I would not be too quick to decry "censorship."

That said, I didn't like RedRum, didn't like the graphics and the weird neon green colors and the doc with the giant syringe was squicky and made me feel a little sick.

Played the demo, got to the dentist investigation. How many more are there after that? Debating whether to use a credit...

Loved the game! I love those find the square in the picture puzzles that seem to turn a lot of people here off! It isn't all that easy to spot all the items for me, and it is just enough of a challenge. VERY engaging storyline, and I love the soundtrack! One of the best ever!

Not sure how the dude murdering his wife with an axe in Ravenhearst is less gruesome that this one. There are a lot of skeletons, bloody items, etc. in the old house. The last scene in Ravenhearst totally creeped me out! So bring on the next one, LOL!!!

For those who wish for BFG not to have this type of game, let me say this. You can simply not download things you don't like. No one is forcing you to play the game. But, if you had your way, you would force the rest of us to pay more for the game at another site. BFG has, simply, the BEST game club on the net. I respect your right to your opinion, and to prefer G rated games, but a lot of us play a variety and enjoy it. (I absolutely love Fizzwizzle! But I like this game, too.)

I don't even see that this is too much for a lot of kids. Heck, they read Goosebumps and Harry Potter. (Maybe the objectors don't have those books at home either?) You know your kids, and how mature they are. But kids tend to like the bizarre and even grisly, in my experience.

Anyway, any censorship should be done by parents as they see fit. Don't ask BFG to become a game censor. They put a warning on it, that should be as far as their responsibility goes.

I have to agree with you about the censorship. I'm one of those people who really enjoys playing dark and sinister games, but I also really enjoy the more family oriented games too. I would just hate for us not to be able to download and play some of these games from the site just because they're a little more grisly than usual. I think BFG has been pretty responsible by adding the warning to the game before you even download it. I personally thought this game was a little short, but I really enjoyed playing it. I prefer getting my games on this site, and I think that anytime censorship is involved it can be a slippery slope that I'd much rather avoid. What's offensive to one person isn't necessarily offensive to someone else.
