Tedious, Boring & Depressing

[Post New]by scotcat on Nov 16, 08 12:16 PM
After 4 days, I finally finished Dr. Lynch - Gave Secrets. It didn't take me 4 days because it was challenging, but because I could only do 1 or 2 chapters in one sitting before getting bored with the game and frustrated over the miniscule items to find. I never skipped any puzzles since they were fairly easy, but I did use quite a few hints to either find those microscopic items or to just move the game along and put me out of my misery. The game was interesting until I hit Chapter 8 and then I couldn't wait for it to end. The only reason I finished the game is to find out the stories ending. There were a fair amount of places to hunt for hidden objects, but after visiting each one about 10 times (with the HO's in the same place), it got rather boring.

The characters (sans Lydia) looked like the got beat up pretty bad with the ugly stick. The story was depressing and gross! Thoughts of incest (eewww) and the murder of the only nice looking character was a bummer. I am still not sure why the old coot murdered his wife. Wasn't she trying to cover up the crimes for him?

On the plus side - this game has some of the best graphics / picture quality that I have seen in a HO game. I remember being at the site with the stones on the hill. It really felt like you were there.

Needless to say, I will never play this game again! Btw.... has anyone clicked on the middle picture on the wall in the portrait gallery scene? LOL If you haven't, try it.

So sorry you didn't like it Scotcat! I thought it was one of the better games out there. Especially with all the extra tasks, like the fireflies (which I thought were roaches at first ) and the hummingbirds. The middle picture was a hoot wasn't it?? A neat "touch".

He had to murder her because she found out his "secret" You know.......kinda like the old saying......I could tell ya but then I'd have to kill ya.

The funny thing is that while I really enjoyed this game I absolutely hated Steve the Sheriff. I only purchased it because so many people loved it. So, like everything I guess.......different games for different gamers.
