Really need help on bonus level 10

How do you get some many people to build up the gold and gems and wood. All of the people won't fit next to the building that they are supposed to be on or next to. Please would somebody explain this to me?

My first building, in the upper right is the mine. Next, on the right, I build the marketplace. On the lower left I build the farm. As soon as I have enough gems, I buy and demolish the academy. Then, I build a farm there. I demolish the original farm and build another marketplace.

I get one marketplace to 2 stars and the other to 3. Try to upgrade your buildings as fast as you can--getting the upgraded merchants is probably the hardest--they take so long to create.
