Post any Haiku Journey technical issues here only

If you are having problems getting the game to work correctly, we highly recommend going to our Help pages. Using our Help pages is always the quickest way to get technical problems resolved. Here are a few suggested articles that have helped many people correct these types of problems in the past:

Frequent Crashing of Game
Game Compatibility

While we can offer a known solution for technical issues in the forums, or other tech savy pond residents can swim by with good tips and suggestions, we cannot provide the same excellent level of support provided by our Customer Support team. The forums are not very well suited for the kinds of information gathering and troubleshooting that get these types of issues corrected quickly. If there is a problem with the game, our Support Team can also gather necessary information on what types of computers are being affected by the problem and deliver this information to the developer for a fix.

If you are not able to get a game working properly using our Help pages, please get in touch with our Customer Support team, you can find a link to contact our Support team on the front page of our Help pages.

Downloaded it. It unpacked the dictionary and something else. I immediately got "Access Violation". Finally got out by using ALT CLT DEL. Uninstalled, re-installed same results. I give up!

Too bad! Looked like a good game!

This was THE VERY FIRST game I've tried (and believe me, I've demoed HUNDREDS!) with an access violation!

I'm getting the integer overflow error too with Windows 7. Is there a solution for this?

I previously ran (and enjoyed) the demo of this game on an XP computer without problems, which was why I bought it.

This is the first time I've had a problem with any Big Fish games, but most of the others were installed on my old XP computer (which is now kaput), so I'm worried this may happen with others?

I am also getting the integer overflow error on my Windows 7 laptop and have to shut it down with task manager. I have tried turning my firewall off while downloading, changed to alternate in the big fish manager options, verified everything is up to date and checked the help pages. I am glad that I am able to play this game on my XP at home.

I too am having problems after installing Haiku Journey on my Windows 7 laptop. I did not have any problem running it on Vista. I continue to receive the "Integer Overflow" message. Running the game in different compatibility resulted in the same error message. Uninstall/Install had no effect. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Auntalee

I had the same problems, and have been unable to get in the game. Uninstallation and reinstallation didn't help, and only CTRL-ALT-DEL got me out of it. Very disappointed.

Hi Fishies,

I'm sorry to hear a few of you are running into an error that isn't allowing the game to open. Since this is a fairly specific error, I recommend getting in touch with our Tech Support Team and they'll be able to look into what's causing that. Hopefully they can find a solution so you can get back to gaming.

I hope that helps,

bfgSeine

I played this on my old laptop for the past two years without any problem. But when I installed it on my brand new, state of the art desktop, I had the same "Integer Overflow" problem that many of you are experiencing.

From my experience with working on software, I was a System's Technical Expert for a Federal Agency before I retired on a Disability, I'm fairly certain this has something to do with our PCs running the 64 bit version of Windows.

Now, if the others who had this problem are still monitoring this thread - if you also have 64 Bit version of Window's on your PCs/Laptops, and are experiencing this Integer Overflow problem - please speak up.

And if you're running the regular 32 bit version of Windows and are also having this problem - say something too. This is the only way we'll really narrow it down.

Why? Because if I'm right, the only way we'll get the Big Fish to fix this program for us little fishies is with a patch - a patch so it will work on 64bit machines.

That's how it's done with many other programs, and many other's that I also had a problem with before the Software manufacturers released a Patch to allow them to run on 64 bit machines.

Thanks - and keep on schooling...

I am having a message that read "ASSERTION FAILURE (DIRECT 3D STATUS:80004005).Hope Big Fish can resolve this problem, if not can I just replace it with another word game?

I tried this years ago on my old computer running XP and had no problems. I was going to buy it today without trying, but fortunately decided to download it first on my new computer running 64 bit Windows 7. Received several kinds of error messages, starting with the Integer Overflow one, and finally had to use the Task Manager to close it down. Wanted to get this with the sale today and the extra punch Monday.

Hi Fishies,

It does look like there may be an issue with this game running on those specific Windows systems.

If you haven't already done so, please run a Dr. Felix Report and send it in to our Tech Support Team through the Contact Us. A Tech Specialist will look over that info and work with you directly on some troubleshooting from there. These details will also be helpful as we work to get any bigger problems with the game itself addressed for you.

Thank you!

I've just installed on my W7 computer, but am getting the integer overflow error and as I am running the 64-bit version, assume it's for the same reason korianto mentioned.

I tried clicking the links in your post bfgMonongahela, but just get an error
"There has been an error with your request."

Can you advise if there is a fix/patch for this issue? it's a shame that it won't work on W7, as it's one of the best games I've bought from you.

I totally agree. It's one of my favorite games of all time. I worked for days and days with a member of the BFG staff in Cork, Ireland, trying to get this game to play on Windows 7. In the end, it was determined that "Haiku Journey" just won't play on some computers with Windows 7 and nothing can be done about it unless the developers or BFG choose to fix the game. Fortunately for me, I have it loaded on both my laptop running Vista and my elderly desktop running XP, and it plays well on both of these operating systems.

Please, Big Fish, get this game fixed so that we can all play it on Win 7, and also make a Mac version so that my sister can play this amazing game, which I know she will love

Edit: I've checked some other websites that sell Haiku Journey, and people have been complaining on those websites that this amazing game will not run on their Windows 7 OS either. Please, please get us a fix!
