Fairy Maids

[Post New]by bfgFlounder on Dec 26, 10 12:05 AM
In the Land of Fairy Tales, finding a happy ending is a trivial thing. That is until you look under the sofa or check the expiration dates in the fridge. Even the happiest of storybook creatures have their messy habits and dirty laundry. And who does the cleaning? Why, the cleaning fairy, of course! Welcome to The Glade's one and only cleaning service – Fairy Maids! Take on the fast and fun Time Management gameplay!

It is spam, Dr. Good, they have been, for the last 2 days!!! Do not even raise their viewing figures by looking at their site. Put a curse on them via CCC. Someone started a thread there. LOL!
Note I removed their shop name before I posted this

The idea of being the slave of a Cleaning Mogul Fairy is, IMO, not too thrilling. The whole thing felt slightly despotic: all of the customers address Beatrix -the mogul- although it is the "Human" doing the work! They say "Thanks" when you're done... but I'd bet they're still addressing Beatrix.

Leaving that aside, the graphs were nice and colorful -the rooms a bit simplistic-, the designs fit nicely with the whole fairytale idea as they could be book illustrations.
The game is in itself ok, it has 3 minigames (5 if you count the imp whacking and the object finding in the TM areas): One is making perfumes (HOG of flowers) in which you get gold and a "fix the mess bluebell", another is an imp HOG (boggert? can't remember their term) in which you get besides the gold an "imp whacking rose", the third is the HOG to find gold sacks that allow you to haggle with the guy selling your upgrades.

The music is nothing to die for, the sound FX are ok.

The game has humor and is nice, but I don't think I will get it even as a DD for a couple of reasons:
1-I found this to be more a clicking frenzy game than a real TM (especially once you start getting the imp infestation). I couldn't find a way to use strategy here except by clicking the imp to get rid of him and trying to make combos, you can hardly predict a course of action or anything.
2-I had some issues with the hotspots and response speed of the items, and since I was playing timed (you can play relaxed mode) it got on my nerves that the game needed seconds to aknowledge what I was clicking on.
3-Somehow I finsihed the trial version thinking it was a shame the graphs and sense of humor didn't find a better use... IMHO there's definitively something lacking in this game, it just felt vague.
5/10.

OK, I need help. I have purchased this game. I was playing it just fine and then all of a sudden it shrunk down to this small 1 inch sliver of a screen. I have tried changing the resolution on this game, I have tried to uninstall and reinstall this game but it still won't open up in full screen mode. ANyone have any suggestions??
