It seems worth it for 2.99.

Tried the demo and like the different treatment of a few things.

Making the recipes after finding the ****.

I also liked the different levels of hints.

If you're stuck, rather than selecting the object exactly, you can choose to hint at only a section of the screen to find it yourself.

Finished the demo and a definite buy at DD price.
Just started 3rd chapter at end of demo and with
8 total, will give me nice playtime.

IMO a nice IHOG, moving items to find other items.
Combining items such as making soup, salad, pizza,
etc. Very different hint system, with choices of type
of hint; nice touch. I like that you can close cupboards
that you have opened. There is variety in the mini games
although nothing new so far and they can be skipped.

Haven't tried the first in the series, but will do so at
some point.

There is talk of witchcraft and spell casting for those
who have a problem with that.

As soon as I saw there had been no comments posted on today's DD, I saw it as my duty to download the demo and see for myself!

I'm 20 minutes into the demo and have returned to make the buy! Attractive, clean graphics and no tiny "nose to the screen" objects. A bizarre hint system that offers every type of hint style (e.g. Geiger counter, images, hi-lighted area, directly pointing). Hints recharge at varying rates depending on the hint you use, and as you accomplish different tasks.

So far the puzzles and tasks are very easy, which I enjoy playing in between those games with more complex puzzles. Story line is interesting, presented in images/text, so no bad voice acting to wreck the mood I'm looking forward to my next meeting with Nostradamus, to see his next magic trick!

So...I have to move things to find items. That means I have to click around to see what moves. But, if I click too many times, my hints disappear. Nope. Sorry. No buy, not even for $2.99. I mean...I might not even want the hints, but to have them disappear because I'm clicking around to see what will move??

I didn't have to click, just hover over items to see what moves.
Did you try that?

Yes, thank you, I did. That didn't appear to work for me. But, I do appreciate the suggestion.

Bought this as the DD because of so many good comments, but I guess it must be me ...

I don't like this game at all. All the characters seem to have nystagmus. Many of the games are boring. Nearly fell asleep matching photo albums, old cameras, flash bulbs etc.

I persevered until I got to the market in Guatemala - or wherever it is - then couldn't stand it any longer, and closed it down.

Sorry - not my cup of tea. totally unengaging.

Finished the game and not at all disappointed. Took me over
7 hours but I know I'm a slow player. I like a good story and for
me this had one. Could have been a wee bit less talking in
one word sentences. Ending was good even tho' it was:
"To be continued". Will definitely look forward to a sequel
and hope the first one goes on sale soon. Nice I got this
at DD price, but for me would have been worth every
penny of full price.

Thaks for opening this thread and for your comments, off to download. I've seen another post in this forum mentionning it could last 7 hours...

I enjoyed this game at the $2.99 price. Graphics were good, hidden objects fairly easy to see, and I liked the types of items I had to find (getting tired of looking for lizards, snakes and spiders). Story line was interesting. Now I want to get the first on in the series, but will wait until it is also on sale.
