Almost finished and I was really wrong with my initial negative criticism of this game, It really is a great game and I really liked the mini-games, especially the maze. I say give it a try because it seems like it is going to be a dud when you first start but it just keeps getting better and better as the game progresses.

Hello!

Youda Legend: The Curse of the Amsterdam Diamond now has a forum of its own, so I'm just popping in to move this thread.

Cheers!

I didn't find the Youda time management games interesting & thus initially was hesitant about trying this new Youda game. Well, have just finished it and after having played many HOGs, I would say this is a decent effort overall, about a good B+ score from me. It would get a better score if it were longer & was a bit more difficult, but overall very playable & pleasant for a relaxed day. Good graphics, game gets better as you go along & personally I quite liked the music. At least not a complete waste of time & money like some titles. I read through most of the posts, some preferred Hardy Boys which I couldn't delete fast enough (example of abusing a famous name to boost a rubbish product) and as for Treasure Seekers, great graphics but dead easy (only have to move mouse cursor around). One interesting difference about this game is having US & UK English, while playing using UK English I remember the game used 'football' for the round B&W ball while other games would label it 'soccer ball'; the former is correct from a UK & ROTW perspective

For those hankering after another cult classic in the same vein as MCF & HE, I think it's not fair to judge every HOG against such high standards since then many very decent games will fall short and you'll be waiting really long intervals for your dream games. Just like how you can't starve yourself simply because your tastebuds never got over that divine meal produced by a 3 Michelin starred chef. And even MCF didn't have consistent high quality in all their titles.

As for those complaints about the apparent slowness & lag, it may just be your computer's CPU & videocard not being powerful enough (a moderator in another thread said this game is fairly graphics intensive). Am using a dual core Intel CPU, 4GB RAM & Radeon 4850, didn't see any unusual lag. But while I like gorgeous graphics, I hope casual games won't end up needing powerful computers to run them, or else it defeats the point of bringing gaming to the masses.

I ended up really really liking this game. Wish it was longer just because I enjoyed it so much and yep, thiose who only gave it a little while didn't begin to get the complexity later on. The puzzles were great. Some quite simple but some real noodlers that gave my fave thing, the Ah ha! moment when you suss what's needed. Some picky clicks were annoying and there was a plunger labled as a spark plug...? but other than those two small complaints *thoroughly* enjoyed this game! Poodlebear Approved!

I enjoyed the demo but when I bought the game i got a runtime error so i haven't been able to play. It's been over 24hours since i reported the problem and still no response from tech support. I know they say 48 hours but I really want to finish the game! It is really frustrating as my laptop is 6 months old and eveything is up to date.

In the first scene I was excited. The pictures of the city were soooooo goood. Then the people started turning up and they look like cartoons. Like one team was in charge of the background and the other the people. Yuck.

Then when I played the game I hated how slow the game was. You click on the object and it takes forever before it goes away. Boring. The whole game was super slow. I thought the objects were nicely hiddened but you didn't know if you had gotten it for such a long time. I was always waiting for the objects to clear.

As for the story.....who am I .... why am I there....who was in the coffin... who was that man..... why am I takeing all these diamonds?????? Stopped at the flower scene. So it's a no for me. Back to getting my brains eaten.

I am a HOG lover thru and thru and I thought this game was about a B. Really liked the concept of following clues thru Amsterdam (beautiful) and having a variety of puzzles (a couple unique ones!) to sove instead of the same old-same old, EXCEPT for two locations, Boathouse and library with the numbers, which were WAY too dark and the pieces impossible to find without just randomly clicking or using hints. I even used a magnifying glass and could not find them! Maybe this was intentional but it was extremely frustrating! Several other areas were really dark as well but my magnifying glass did come to the rescue. Maybe offering a working flashlight or magnifying glass in the game itself would be an option for the continuing series!

Click on the doors at the front of the exit - they will open and you can walk thru!

Just finished it. I was told it had good replay value, but although I really enjoyed it, I found some of the mini-puzzles very tedious (the boat jigsaw and the slider) so I'm not sure I could wade through all that again. A skip option would be useful!
