Release the rats!

I released the rats at the base of the statue, but the prompt won't let me move on to talk to Magnolia until I release the rats! Am I missing something more?

The only thing I can possibly imagine is that maybe you didn't release all three of them? Do you have another rat hiding in your inventory?
