We have a new version of Westward Kingdoms available now. This new version of the game updates to build 1.003, which fixes multiple issues that have been noted in the Forums.
You can get the newest version by uninstalling and reinstalling your game. Here is a link to our help article for PC and Mac:

*If you have not yet purchased the game, find the game and reinstall the trial version (when available) to play any remaining minutes.

I would be astonished if that were the case; it's not the kind of mechanism the WW games ever use.
It seems more likely that to get the benefit of the new version you unfortunately need to do the whole quest w/ that version, so you'd have to go back to a Save before you started it. (Obviously this is a guess; I've no way to test it, even if I were willing to take the time.)
