If you like the first two cake shops, this one will not disappoint. The graphics are really nice! I just wish I knew how many countries you get to travel. I will buy this game this week, but have to wait for March. Yah....only 2 days away.

the world map showed five or six locations which i'm not sure comprise all of the locations to be visited or not, but that's a few hours of play time... about the norm for a TM game of this caliber...

the recommendations for what to do next to improve your 'situation' are always there, but the game play is only fairly linear... you're free to perform your upgrades as you wish and not be penalized - putting the renovations first made sure i had the money to buy stuff for the shop...

the speed with which this one ramps up is unbelievable... one minute people want cakes and the next - they want to sit down and have popcorn and coffee and soda and cake and fruit burritos seriously?

so grease up the mouse and don't skip that finger massage

happy baking!

The grapihcs are lovely. The gameplay is TM. Serving cakes and other edibles to customers. Here is my one complainant: Stereotyping. In Mexico there is a lovely lady in a long dancing or formal outfit and a young guitar player with a large sombero. I shudder to think of what people will be wearing in the other countries this game goes to. People dress normally(ie not formally or in costume) to go shopping. I realize they are trying to offer a "flavor" of the country, but I can say having been to some of these countries - not common dressing by the customers. Okay rant over. The game seems nice.

This game is a B-.

For starters, Stevihj, IT'S A GAME!!!! No one cares where you've been, and how stereotyped you see it! A GAME!!! Being a little too serious here! The graphics are great, and I thought the characters are slightly pornographic, but still, good. Not going to **** about big muscles, or tits in revealing clothing. I played the survey of this game, and thought it got very difficult very quickly. I love a challenge, but not sure I want to replay a level to get expert fifty times! Overall, fun game, but challenging.

Yes it is a game. However flattering stereotypes, when children play a game they still see stereotypes and absorb them. The game was delightful save for that. And since it seemed to be the "feature" of the game since you are going around the world, it seemed important to mention.

I wouldn't allow a child to play this game at all. Obviously not ment for children, so just don't let unsupervised kids play it. I find the cultural stereotypes emphasize each countrys uniqueness. Guess I just don't see it as negative. There is really no way to shield a child from stereotypes, unless they grow up in Disneyland, and even then, I'm sure they still would!

I really like TM games and this one was just OK for me. The speed of the game did really ramp up quickly as a PP said...but 40 minutes into my trial, I get cut off? This tells me that the game will be far too short for me to consider buying. It's a pass for me. It reminds me of Burger Shop and I liked those much better.

Wearing national costumes is a matter of great pride to the peoples of any country. It is how one honors one's history and culture. That is why they are worn at festivals and parades. National costumes not only spark the imagination of adult and child alike, they are simply beautiful to behold. I speak as a person whose heritage is from one of the countries depicted in this game. There is no stereotyping here.

Never having seen a previous version of Cake Shop, I downloaded and played the trial for this one. I suspect it is very similar to previous games, if one has played those.

This game reminded me of a mixture of Burger Shop meets Cake Mania meets Diner Dash meets TurboX. You are responsible for pleasing your guests either at the counter or at a table. The guests at a table require being dragged there and being given a menu. You are responsible for both renovating your shop (to increase stars and, therefore, tips) and purchasing new equipment to provide a larger variety of offerings to your guests. At some point, this includes purchasing a cake shape changer to add that touch of variety.

As TMGs go, this one is not difficult. While I am a bit slower than a previous commenter, I finished the provided demo in less than an hour. I also refuse to continue without getting expert on each level. Had I done so, I may have finished more quickly.

It actually distracts me less than Cake Mania, which can serve to irritate me with making the wrong cake in the right color or putting on the proper frosting, as the options are a bit fewer here. That, to me, is a good thing. Cake Mania can really raise my blood pressure. Like the Burger Shop games, you select the items off of a moving escalator type thing. And, like the turbo games, you are responsible for not just cakes, but also drinks and sides.

This game seems to offer the best of all worlds. That being said, I haven't decided yet whether or not to purchase it. For some reason, it just didn't "hook" me, and I have no idea why. It may be that it is just a bit TOO mindless.

To address the national costume issue, it did not bother me at all. I was not the slightest bit offended - and I have traveled the world and seen many of these countries. The costumes, to me, are not to stereotype nationalities, but rather to remind the player in which country he is playing. They are just a fun little addition. If all nationalities wore the same clothing, then what would be the point of traveling the world in the game? (Just my humble opinion.)

All-in-all, it is a well put together game.

The rant about the costumes is dumb..PLEASE! Really?

This is a fun game, fast paced and hard at times if you aren't paying attention. I bought it and am enjoying it...especially the costumes!

I have bought Cake Shop 1 and 2 and liked both games very much. This game is on the same quality - a very nice tm-game. Not very easy, but also not very hard. A buy for me as a Tm-veteran

Burger Shop 2 is one of my favorite games, and I enjoy other cooking games like Cake Mania, so believe me when I say I really tried to like this game. But I just can not get into it. I am not a fan of the graphics, I prefer more cartoonish looking people. Plus, the slabs of cake look like plastic too me and completely unappetizing.

WOOOW.. That's is all I have to say Is wow.. I came here to look for reviews on this game, and what do I get.. People complaining about sterotypes, pornograhic characters, and cake that looks like plastic. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!!!

There is no sterotyping in this game from what I see. Nor do I see porn stars, or anything close to resembling it. As for the plastic cake comment. I'm just going to leave that one alone.

The game is alot like the oringinal cake shop with a few extras. It's kinda like cake shop meets diner dash. One of the things I found that I did not like in the oringinal cake shops, was that there seemed to be no challenge. It was way to easy. This version here, I could see very quickly, how some of us would want to pull our hair out are heads. The game gets very challenging pretty quick, with the new abilitly of seating and serving your customers, along with serving those who are standing in line, not to mention the many
machines that you have to keep up and running, getting expert was quite a challenge.
The graphics are pretty decent, the music ehh but that's what the off and on buttons are for. The game play very intense and fast paced. I'am not sure how many levels there are,
but.. being that the game is such a challenge. I think that it would take awhile to get expert on every level..So too me that is worth the money.

Replaying a level.....

I'am not sure If it's a bug or not, but If you do not get expert on a complete level and you try to go back to get expert on the levels you did not pass, It starts all over. So what I have been doing is. If I do not get expert on a level the first time, hit replay. Cause if you wait until you completed all 8 or 10 levels and then try to go back.. It starts you all over from the beginning. Don't know If It's a bug or If that is the way the game is set up.

My husband and I are both Native Americans. When our children were still at home we traveled the country to participate in Native pow-wows. Our sons also entered dance competitions and were attired in beautiful native dress. Everywhere we traveled the local people were so interested - even fascinated in, not only our dress, but our customs and our heritage. So - based on what I witnessed - people appeared to be interested in learning more about those who were different. I think this must be a good thing. As for this game - I thought it moved much too fast. I am older (just a little, mind you) and would appreciate having a relaxed or no-timed option. I realize that this is a "time management game", however why couldn't it also be a "strategy game" as well. There would be so many additional people who would be able to play, if that were the case. I'm sure the devs. would be interested in making more money. Just a thought.

What a rip off! 5 countries? Absolutely ridiculous. My money would have been better spent throwing it out the window and some random person picking it up. Very disappointing & will never get another.

I feel this game is worth the $6.99 I paid for it! Wish it was longer, but still worth it!
