giving the fish to the cat

I found all of the hidden objects in the room with the cat. I have tried to give the fish to the cat to move to the next game, but that does not work. Cat hisses and the fish goes back into inventory.
Is there a trick here that I am missing?

I also had a problem until I laid the fish on top of the cat ( across his back and it just snapped in...Good Luck.. Noe if you can tell me how to assign the masks or use the "solve it" button we wil be even

When you place your cursor on the "solve it" tab, it should light up; if it doesn't, then it's not fully charged yet and it'll ding when it becomes fully charged.
