Level 2 - cant fix popcorn machine

On level 2 i have to get 3 popcorns but the popcorn machine is broke down and the option to buy anything to fix it is locked. Is anyone else having this problem?

The popcorn machine is not available to buy until episode 4 and the tool kit to repair machines is available in episode 7.
