Trojans Detected

[Post New]by Momhart on Dec 22, 08 3:29 PM
I was trying to open this game and my McAfee virus protection alerted me to 6 trojans detected in this game.

Just wanted everyone to be aware.

I would like to state that Gogii games would NOT put out games with Trojans in them. I personally talked to the owners and trust me they would not. Gamezebo knows these guys personally and they would tell you the same thing. It has to be your McAfee anti-virus. I have Kaspersky and not once did it pop up stating the game has a virus. BFG would not put out a game that has a virus as well. Either it was BFGaegean or BFGerie stated this that this site is one 100% virus spyware and adware free. Gogii who put out this game also makes games for the Xbox and the Wii. This is a highly reputable company.

Have to agree with sassylassie - I had lots of trouble with a purchased McAfee and finally got rid of it. Now use AVG which gives the same level of protection without the hassel. I don't think the problem is with the games.......

I signed in today to play one of my older downloaded games and my mcafee said the game had a trojan and won't let me open it. I can't open any of my downloaded games--8 of them in total.

I'm glad to see I"m not the only one having this problem. Is Big Fish going to write some code to allow the games to be played, or are they going to reimburst everyone who can't access their games? I think they're going to write some code.

It may very well be that big fish and all the sites sassy mentioned above say they don't have viruses, spyware and the like in their programs, but all I know is yesterday, I played the games. Today, they won't open. I didn't update my McAfee between those two times. So, Big Fish needs to talk to McAfee and rewrite these codes to take out the trojan.

Big Fish Games is aware that McAfee is incorrectly detecting a trojan virus in our games. Please note that our products are guaranteed virus free – we rigorously test each of our games and applications for weeks before our products are released to the public. There isn’t a single virus or Trojan to be found in our games or game manager applications.

We have contacted McAfee and are working with them to get this problem resolved as quickly as we can. If you would like to help, you can contact McAfee yourself and let them know that you are experiencing this problem. I can only assume that the more customers who contact them, the quicker they will act to resolve the matter. Here's a link to where you can contact McAfee:

McAfee Services and Support

Because we already have another thread about this issue, I'm going to lock this duplicate thread. You can read/post your comments in the original thread here:

McAfee finding all Big Fish games as having generic.dx trojan. Anyone else?
