Ok thanks suz for that info

Fairhaven, I had to look up Skulthorpe didn't know where it is. It's quite a way from me it's in Norfolk. I read quite a lot about the Air Base there, very interesting.

I have a very good internet friend who lives in Michigan in Holland. You've certainly had your share of snow recently haven't you?

I LOVE BigFish , and I am so glad that you all are explaining abbreviations!!! I understand "some" of them, but many of the longer ones (that you all have so nicely explained for me and the other *little* anemones here) are just too funny, and had never had explained to me before.

Thanks snugs for starting this post!!!

I wish someone would make a long list of the abbreviations. It is too hard going through all the posts each time to look for one you don't know the meaning of. And I don't know many of them. Could someone do that?

Locked thread - is a special post that does not allow replies. Only a moderator can lock posts. The reasons for locking a thread vary by forum. To find out why a particular post is locked, you can contact the Moderator of that forum.

Photobucket - is where you can see pictures of some members here and you can upload your picture too

If I have missed any abbreviations and you would like them added to this "consolidated" list, please PM me, and I'd be happy to add them.

Also, a BIG TY to Snugs for starting this, and another to for adding the sticky!!!

You guys are most welcome. Like I said in the original post. A lot of abbreviations are thrown around and figured that maybe this topic would be a good one for the newbies and maybe those older ones who are scratching their heads.

I learn new abbreviations each day so it's a growing thing.

Wow! Thanks for going to all that trouble, fairhaven. That was very kind. Also, thanks to Snugs and everyone else who had a part in it.

When I was at Photobucket, I didn't see any place to upload. I guess you need to register or something which I was hesitant to do.

Bonnie

We need to add CRS (which afflicts me often!)

Please can someone enlighten me as to what ETA means here in the forums? ( I know the usual meaning , Estimated Time of Arrival)

Does it have something to do with editing?

TY everyone for so much info, I guess I'm just an OBIT -- lol, By the way, I can't seem to get my emoticons to show up in my posts. They show up as abbreviations or explanations, am I doing something wrong?

Have you tried previewing your posts? They should show up then. They do not show up in the original post. As an example, I will type ( and the word flounder and then ). So ( flounder ) is what I see in the original post but if I preview, I will see This is a rather lame explanation but I hope it helps

Any time. We all ask what we at first thought were "stupid" questions...and then learned, everyone here has asked for and given help.

Pass it along. Welcome to the Pond! jinocchio! And for us really OB's, can you think of a nickname that is easier to type. Everyone calls me MA.

well, MA, I really don't have a nickname (short one, anyway) but I guess you could call me EM. My first hubby called me HEAD (short for Knucklehead) and my present hubby just calles me HEY~!

Mews, I'm not sure, but I'm going to take a guess that ETA means Estimated Time of Arrival here, too, probably for new games..... However, IMWTK, as MA would say, so once someone confirms/denies, I'll add both to the list!

Hi Fair
I asked jobynana (as she used it in a thread) and she told me that ETA means EDITED TO ADD (or AMEND).
You're doing a great job there with the list
