Logic magic rule help needed

[Post New]by chika654 on Dec 29, 08 11:02 AM
Greetings,

I don't think I am a dummy but I just can't figure out the logic principle for this one. Highest I have been able to score is a D! Is the principle matching the color and/or the shapes for the missing item? Thanks for any suggestions

There are many different aspects to watch in this challenging game.
1. Rotation of the shape
2. Rotation of the number or letter in the shape
3. Addition or subtraction
4. Number of pegs on the shape
5. Color change within row for shape (e.g. red goes to blue and yellow goes to green)
6. Color change within row for number or letter
7. Same color within entire results column for shape (e.g. all the different shapes in results column are red)
8. Same color within entire results column for number or letter
9. Same shape within entire results column?

First, check the color of the problem shape and see if any other example shapes in the left column above have the same color. Then see what color the example shape goes to. Then look at available answers. Pretend the shape of the problem is blue, and you find an example shape is blue too. You may find that only two answers have a blue shape. So you eliminated one answer already. Then you need to figure out which of the two is correct. Maybe the color of the numbers in the answers differ, one is orange and one is green. Then you look at the color of the number in the problem, and find that colored number in the example, and see what color that example number goes to. If the problem number is red, and there is an example number that is red on the left, and the example number goes to green on the right, then the answer number would be green. So you combine the blue shape and the green number as your answer. You often have to find the answer by matching two or three of the different aspects above between the available answers and the problem. Hope that helps a little... it really is difficult for me to explain logic.
The way I got faster was to quickly identify a characteristic that is all different in the answers. For example, the number of pegs. Then you can study the trend at the top and find the correct answer with just one comparison.
