Constuction doesn't start.

I pressed the build button and made a selection on to what I wanted to build on a specific spot.

the transparent image appeared and I clicked it on a no red zone.

Nothing happens...

What's going on?

you need to drop one of your people on it.

What I do is "checkmark" a few trees and rocks to make sure I'll always have building materials. I also assign most of the tribespeople to construction in addition to other duties such as fishing/ agriculture/science. Your tribespeople should have at least 3-4 priorities to keep things going.

The foundation itself does not appear when I select the "green zone" for the construction.

Sounds like another glitch to me. This game is full of them. Just make sure you have trees and rocks checked, though, or the people can't chop wood or gather rocks. I've never had this problem, but I'm not surprised with this game.
