Post any Spirit Soup: The Queensbury Curse technical issues here only

If you are having problems getting the game to work correctly, we highly recommend going to our Help pages. Using our Help pages is always the quickest way to get technical problems resolved. Here are a few suggested articles that have helped many people correct these types of problems in the past:

Frequent Crashing of Game
Game Compatibility

While we can offer a known solution for technical issues in the forums, or other tech savvy pond residents can swim by with good tips and suggestions, we cannot provide the same excellent level of support provided by our Customer Support team. The forums are not very well suited for the kinds of information gathering and troubleshooting that get these types of issues corrected quickly. If there is a problem with the game, our Support Team can also gather necessary information on what types of computers are being affected by the problem and deliver this information to the developer for a fix.

If you are not able to get a game working properly using our Help pages, please get in touch with our Customer Support team, you can find a link to contact our Support team on the front page of our Help pages.

*Please reserve this thread for tech issues only. If you are seeking game play assistance (i.e. hints and tips), the best thing to do is to start a new thread in the game's Forum by clicking on 'Create New Discussion.'

This game has shut down me on 3 times. Once no explanation the other two times at the same place - pipe puzzle with
"access violation at 0x0046C5FI tried to write to 0x00000FPA"

I did buy it here, playing it through the 'new' game manager.

gingergal, had no problems with mine, but then I shut down the GM once the game started. Just hit the start button and close the billboard. Hope this helps!

Thanks.
The "play as adminstrator" button was greyed out, after clicking loads of buttons, think I got it on. And so far after 20 mins playing, I at least managed to get past the pipe puzzle and it hasn't kicked me out yet! I think it was just annoyed at me placing the pipes in the wrong position
So hopefully that's it, fingers crossed.

It shut down the game and my laptop as well. Think the GM draws too many resources, so competes for Kbs to run. The only way to turn it off is to go into Options, tick Window so you can see the Desktop and close GM, then back to Fullscreen to play. Seems like a fun game with interesting puzzles. No widescreen option, and the music is nothing special, but the graphics are nice and clear. The Hints recharge really fast, but aren't terribly helpful. Need some intuition with this one

Played fine for the 1 hour demo and then the pipe puzzle . . .
"access violation at 0x0046C5FI tried to write to 0x00000FPA"
same as reported above.

I did have the GM runnning. I'll try the advice and close it and see what happens.

Played fine, lovely little game - but I'd just got the SPOILER Vampire's Tooth, when my DH asked me to listen to something, I went to the main menu, turned down the volume and when I went to turn it up again got the 'deleted all corrupt files, restart game from beginning' message. This was an in game message - not a 'window' like most error messages but in the game font.

This is the second time this has happened to me, the first time was on the first day with the new GM, when it wiped two games I owned and restarted several games I was a fair way along with including the one I was currently playing, again with an 'in game' error message not a microsoft window (I think it was the casino TM game all those weeks back)

Soooooo, flaky game or flaky GM (still).

I'm almost afraid to check my other games.

Edited for clarity (I think)

I have always open the GM and no problems with playing games.

I got past all the ingredients for the soup and shut the game down to go for breakfast. I used the Main Menu/Quit option. When I went to continue, I received a message that my profile was corrupt and to start the game from the beginning. If I wanted to play the same game twice, I'd create a new profile !!!! Not Impressed !!

Can't download trial. Keep getting "Error 772". I've never received an error message before. Why would I need "administrative" access?

Hi Fishies,

I'm having problems with the game not opening in full screen. It starts fine but only opens in an average sized window and only shows the top left corner of the game. I've uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, but the "maximize" button on the window is greyed out.
Any ideas how I can get this window to full screen?
I'm happy to say this is the very rare occasion I've had to write here. I hope someone has a suggestion.

Thanks,
Linda

Thanks for the suggestion crazy8clcub, But I guess you missed the part in my original post that stated that the Maximize Button is greyed out. I'm also not able to double click on the top bar of the window to maximize it that way.

Linda.

The game locked up on the pipe puzzle. I tried all of your suggestions to no avail. Still locks up on pipe puzzle and get the error message.
No buy for me. I haven't had to do this dance with other games and don't plan on doing with this one either. A definite no buy for me. Too much trouble.

Hello fellow fishies!

First dip into the pond here. I am just dipping my fins in the pond so be gentle while I learn how to swim these waters.

I am having the same issues as Linda_s 55. Game opens to a small portion of the left upper screen and no way to maximize. Help before I sink!

Welcome to the pond labellemoi. Most everyone here is very friendly and helpful. This is a rare occasion for me to be in this section of the forum. I hope we can swim together, but if we end up sinking, well, misery loves company...LOL But seriously, we may have to wait until the weekday before we can get help if nothing comes before because chat is closed on the weekends. We'll just sit here together and tread water until someone throws us a line.

Linda.

Hello everyone,

If you are seeing an Access Violation error message, it can be happening for a variety of reasons. Please take a look at this help article for more information and for troubleshooting steps that might help:

Access Violation

For those of you with a display issue, please check that the screen resolution settings are ideal for this game:

Screen Resolution

You might also want to auto adjust the screen; this is a physical button that you can find on your monitor.

If you are seeing a 772 error, please take a look at this help article:

Errors: 769, 772

Still need help with the game? Please get in touch with Tech Support and include the steps you've taken so that our reps can best help you with the issues you're seeing with this game. Thank you!

Thanks bfgArnoStyx, but for me, that didn't help. It only made the window the game is opening up bigger but didn't make any difference on how the game is "not" playing. The game is still only opening in a window showing only the top left corner of the game screen. My resolution is defaulted to open at 1600x900.
How about my little buddy, Moi? Did it help with how your game opens?

Linda.
