Comments for Mystery Murders: Jack the Ripper

[Post New]by peglegann on Aug 30, 11 4:11 AM
ROFL! I am swimming upstream again, against the tide of people that do not like this game. Especially some respected fish whose reviews I trust. BUT being me, I had to try for myself! LOL!
If you do have a problem with clicking by mistake, it does "punish" you but I found that if you can take your time ( I did quite a few wrong clicks on purpose to test this theory)and click slowly then you do not get "punished" I do wish that the Dev's would remove this annoying habit of a penalty for clicking, what does it bring to the game but to annoy people??!!
I only played for 25 minutes and got to the second chapter.
The scenes are dark, fitting the era but I did not have to use a hint in that time at all. I was playing on "advanced". The cursor changes to a magnifying glass when there is something to look at/find. I need to use a code by tomorrow and it will probably be on this one! Not the best game but certainly not the worst either.
Give the game a go if you can and happy gaming

Okay, okay, perhaps the 20 minutes or so I devoted to the demo of this one was not long enough for a fair assessment... you know that I do this sometimes Ann. LOL Well, I got the codes on that one door (the blue ones) however long that took me... I will give it more of a chance. I don't want you and the Wizard here to be in such a small club. {giggle}

Welcome to the forums Hoggywizard!!

Good balance, neat ideas, and enjoying the unusual way of telling the story.

So sorry! Shadowfax's post just reminded me that I had not said:-

This is a really great game, but it is for those just starting out in Hidden Object games. the jigsaw puzzles? were just too easy. Good graphics though!

I bought this one because hidden objects are super easy to find and I don't have to spend more than a nanosecond on it. I'd be happier if there was no **** scenes but, whatever. I used a game credit.

I don't know if we are all in the minority here, but I also like this game. If you don't click too fast it doesn't penalize you. The graphics are good. At first I was skeptical about this game, but it gets better as you go along. The chapters are rather short so I don't know if this is indicative of a short game or if there are just alot of chapters. There is no walkthrough yet to judge by. I need one more punch on my card for this month, so this will do it. A definite buy for me.

I enjoyed the demo for the characters, story and most of the gameplay.

It does have some very dark scenes but that goes with the setting and story atmospherics . So, its expected that I'm going to have my nose up against my monitor screen at times.

Also, expect blood and bugs!

Its on my BUY list!

I also enjoyed it, but will wait for tomorrow to buy (if I do) to see what they're serving up for last day of the month. Need one more punch and may use a CR on something different or not, depends on the DD. I like dark and it had a good atmosphere. Decent voice actors, too. I will buy it eventually.

I'm finding the graphics very fuzzy. Not too bad in the H0 scenes.
but the minis where turning the rings in the circles, just can't
see enough detail to see what I'm doing and solved two
by pure luck. Also the same problem in turning the squares.
Just clicked each one until it locked.

Haven't completed demo and not yet giving up on the game,
but will try again at a later date. Too many unfinished CE games
bought on sale to worry about this now.

I couldn't bring myself to finish the trial of this game. It seemed to drag on and on. Shame too because it sounded interesting.

Does anybody know when a walkthrough will be ready? I'm stuck outside the barber shop; I can't get the keys in the grill. What do I need to have to get the grill up, or to get the keys? Teri Benedetto
