I'll wait to see if someone can tell me the deveoper before I bother to download - the controls on the screenshots look too familiar.

Yes, this is HdO and not worth buying. It's an OK game, but I played a free hour trial on another website a few years ago and played the whole game for free as it took less than the hour. Also, the graphics were quite grainy.

Yep, one of the HdO job lots. Only one more to go by my reckoning (though I could be unhopefully wrong) unless more have been developed since.

Not only is this a "soft release," it's a "mushy" release by--you guessed it--HdO. You'd think, after all this time and all the critiques, that the developers and BFG would learn something--but NO! The opening is so weak that it needs crutches--"I'm Brad, and I must find Janet--but wait--my car broke down right in front of this spooky Bavarian castle--I'd like to get some help, but lots of brambles are blocking my way through the gate." Oh, puh-leeze!

If you move your mouse cursor around in the opening menu, you'll get seasick--I suppose the developers thought that was an artistic touch--I call it lousy. I didn't get much beyond the opening scene with "brainless" Brad b4 it was time to call it quits. Another "look what found in the attic" game, IMHO.

Regards, elldee

unfortunately I think you might be wrong. When I only had the MAC, I used a different site combined with BFG because it gave more just MAC options and for 6 months solid, everyday they released a HdO game. I tried a few out and thought to myself, geez who would buy this? and BFG never had them so I figured they were maybe low budget, or made only for that site but then they started appearing here, unfortunately. That being said, I haven't seen half of the ones released on that site and I demo'ed maybe 6 or 7 that I haven't seen released here either so that being said I think there are A LOT more HdO games floating about, Im just crossing my fingers they don't all make it to this site.

I thought I would give the demo a try. The intro graphics looked pretty sharp and clear until I moved my mouse and the screen was moving all around

I played about 20 minutes and the items were way toooo small for me to see and very grainy.

To move around in the game you just cannot click on a doorway you have to click on a specific button for every move.

This game is not for me at all.

Happy gaming fishies

Another Hdo .....not for me. I played the demo, it was okay. I wouldn't buy. Pictures are too hard to see. I have a feeling I was more than halfway done the game, when the hour was up. Not my type of game at all. I would rate it a 4 out of 10.

Hi there megwoman.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that BFG had purchased the rights to release 10 HdO games. For all of us here I hope this was correct. Please don't tell us that there are more "out there ".
Edited to clarify that I have actually trialled at least 1/2 of the HdO games offered not only here but elsewhere (and yes, some of them are rather "old"), and my assessment has been on all occasions - though some of the latest ones have "more" merit. I have also to confess that I actually purchased one ages ago to fill a Punchcard!!!

When I read the info for this game and then looked at the screen shots, I had a sinking feeling in my tumtum Alas, I was right, sigh. HdO

So then I Googled HdO games and found this post on the G-----bo site. It lists the "known" games made by this dreaded company (I really hope there aren't anymore).

The DREADED HdO GAMES (my own title, lol):

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo
A Girl in the City
A Vampire Romance: Paris Stories
Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp: 1001 Nights
Alice in Wonderland: The Incredible Adventure
Around the World in 80 Days: The Challenge
Blake and Mortimer: Curse of the 30 Denarii
Bonnie and Clyde: Public Enemies
FBI: Paranormal Cases
Frankenstein: The Dismembered Bride
Hollywood: The Director's Cut
Jack the Ripper: Letters from Hell
Profiler: The Hopscotch Killer
Secrets of the Vatican: The Holy Lance
The Time Machine: Trapped in Time
Treasure Island: The Golden Bug

What do you think? Have they all been released here yet?

Jen

BFG don't have the one I got on disc (by mistake, I might add). Profiler: The Hopscotch Killer. And that one took me just under half an hour!

@ Purplerabbit

Half an hour? Yoicks!! Did it have the usual swaying to and fro and zooming back and forth? The title sounds familiar, so I may have seen it in a shop too.

I wonder where they are based? And how it is that BF think we will actually like these games? The person posting on the other site was just as stumped as we are, lol.

Of course, BF always get the game suggestions on the GM just right for us too,

Jen
