Welcome to Nancy Drew: The Haunted Carousel forum

I just bought this game and when I play it freezes up on me I have to shut computer down completely to get out of it.
Please help

I see several of you have experienced Technical issues with this game. I did not see any reference by anyone that these issues had been reported to Tech Support. The forums are for users to help each other. Tech Support does not review the forum.
I recommend you run your dxdiag file and save it. Then send an email to Tech Support and attach your dxdiag file. Knowing how your PC is configured will help during the problem solving process. Good Luck Cesse47

There's way tooooo much talking and it takes forever. How do you shortcut to just solve the stupid thing without all the dumb dialog?

I'm sorry anitagb but I have to disagree with you the dialog helps in solving the game.I like the dialog but that doesn't mean your wrong or that I'm wrong it just means to each his own.The problem I'm having is my access card doesn't work in any of the readers and I need to get into the haunted mansion to get an object I need to use .And I can't access the band organ and there are things there that I need to go on in the game.can any one in the pond hear me I need all the help I can get

This was the first Nancy Drew game I bought and I must admit it was pretty confusing at first but after a while - and a few second chances - I was addicted!
I loved Nancy Drew as a girl so I'm revisiting my childhood
I find that the UHS walkthroughs are handy. You only get as much information as you want.

I have to admit I just couldn't figure out how to play this type of game.

I figured out that I'm supposed to use the paper yoyo that I won as a prize for the Swimmer's Itch game to get the letter down from the ledge under the carousel. Also, I checked this out on Universal Hints Systems. The game won't let me do this. I even went back to a saved game, and played Swimmer's Itch again, and won the yoyo again, then immediately went down the steps to try to get the letter. Still no luck. I don't know if it's a glitch, or if I did some of this out of sequence, or what. I am so frustrated, and I hope I don't have to start over completely.

Also, I found the tissue paper strips in Elliot's workroom, and tried to take the tape in the red dispenser on his worktable, but it won't let me do that, either. Is there another kind of tape somewhere? I need it to tape the tissue to the organ pipes.

I found the tape and used it. Still no luck with the paper yoyo.

How do I use the Access Card?
I repaired the Reader,
I had the power turned on,
but I still can't get the cardf to work.
How do I do it?

You should just be able to click on the card to get it from inventory and then click on the reader.

I have the combination for the lock inside the carosel but can't figure out how to enter it. The combo is 18-9-39, but the lock only goes in increments of 5. How do you get to the specific numbers?

i have a problem, i need to use a fun pass for the gamehall, but it doesn't worl anymore. when i go to harlan he doesn't give me a new one, so i'm stuck.
Does anyone know what i have to do to get another funpass?? please help!!!!
