Syberia Anyone having problems?!?!?!?

Oh no!!!!! I started playing Syberia a couple days ago, and I went on to play again this morning , I went back to where I saved the game and when she trys to walk away it goes black screen!!!!!!!!! I 'm at the part where she is in Barrockstadt and she goes up the ladder to collect the egg on top of the metal wing. When she walks down the ladder she goes to walk over the train to go back to the Univerisity. Help, Help, Help Please!!!!

Erie, maybe you can help, It looks like i'm not the only person this is happening to. Theres at least 5 or 6 people that are stuck in the same spot i am. I just tried to get customer support thru Live Chat and it was cancelled. Is that because its not working yet?

I am stuck at same place too! Anyone heard anything yet?

I am stuck there also, I researched what to do with the error message and have already updated my DirectX and gone to Dell and updated what needed to be done. I just hate the though of uninstalling and reinstalling the game and having to start out all over again.

Me too. Same problem at the same place in the game.

Don't know if this will help anyone else BUT...........I thought I had the latest version of Directx but thought it would do no harm to try to install it again. Went to the site and downloaded version 9 (which was what i thought i had already) then I tried going back into the game and this time it worked perfectly with no error messages and has let me play for about 10 minutes without any problems !! Hope this is some help to someone.

Thanks! I'm going to go try that now as a "last resort" before uninstalling and reinstalling since I've already done everything else. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Well, I got her down from getting the egg the whole screen just went black, no error message this time though.

Same thing happened to me went and got the egg, came down she went toward the train and I receieved an error message. decided to try it again, this time when I came down I went towards the steps, haven't had an error message since, but now I save very often.

I did talk to someone at cust serv and they told me to download the new direct x and some other new driver stuff, but it didnt work I e-mailed him to let him know, but I havent heard back yet. I am really disappointed. That game is so awsome, aaaauuuugggghhhh!!!! Though he did give me a credit, it dosent help, I want that game! I also asked him if I could get the game on disk, and if it would make a difference. we'll see. i'll keep you posted. Thanks Paula

I also save a lot during gameplay--I don't want to have to start over & over again I tried one more time to continue play after getting the cuckoo egg--luckily I had saved at that point. It was to no avail. So, I turned my computer completely off for a few hours. Got some housework done, cooked dinner And YAY!! --when I loaded up the game again, it ran with no problems right where I left off!!! So, maybe try giving the ole puter a little rest and hopefully happy gaming continues.

Listen to what u are told to do by the last person u talk to.. I am thinking you need to go back to the Prof and talk to him also and retalk to the rectors. Try this I believe it might help.

I hope it isn't that you need DirectX 9 because I'm holding off on that until the other glitches are worked out of it.

I get stuck before even leaving town. I had done everything in the town and Oscar awaited on the train...got the approval and headed for the church just for the heck of it - hadn't been before...got punch cards, went up an elevator, saw "something missing", went back down, headed for the front door of the church. Clicked on it and the avatar went up the steps and...disappeared, leaving a hollow, infinitely-repeating sound of footsteps.

Tech support, here I come.

Edit update 2 VENTING: Live chat in queue position 36...a bit more than one hour later, position four, then "No agent available, chat cancelled"...immediately tried again - position 41...argh argh

I just downloaded syberia and when I click on play now a window with information on auto run architect program pops up and when I click exit nothing happens?

This also happened to me but I updated DirectX & disabled my virusware & since then it's been working fine.

Ok stupid question coming how do I update my directx

I've downloaded the game and played it for a short while, but each time I try to save the game and reload to my point of exit I'm unable to restart the game. Any ideas why the game won't save for me to restart? Thanks.
