What a fun game!! Kept me engaged the entire time (I spread it out over several nights just to make it last longer) and I love the steampunk atmosphere.

Just finished with playing the whole of this game again, and can absolutely say, enjoyed it the first time I played it. Not often would I play the Hide and Seek games again, but no problem with this one. This game for me beats Void etc, with everything perfect, makes you feel a part of the game-which is really difficult to accomplish and the music fits too.

Overall Impression: A fun game that moves along nicely. The storyline could have been developed a bit better, but the game was still fun.

Media Description: The graphics were nice and bright. I don't remember any voiceovers, but it's a couple of weeks since I played the game so I might have forgotten about them. I don't remember the music being annoying so it was probably ok.

Storyline: The storyline was pretty well done. A couple of times I thought it lose its way and just meandered around, but that didn't happen too often. The ending felt a tad rushed, but not too badly.

Gameplay: This was a FROG, not your regular HOG/IHOG game. Thankfully most of the pieces were fairly easy to find. The game was divided into seven chapters which consisted of four or five different scenes with several different tasks to accomplish.

HOG Scenes: While there were no HOG scenes, there was a misclick penalty that temporarily disabled the cursor if you clicked in the wrong place too many times in a row.

Minigames/puzzles: The minigames/puzzles were integrated into the storyline pretty well. Most (if not all) could be skipped after a couple of minutes.

Hints: The hints were unlimited but took a little bit to refill. In addition to telling you where a fragment was, the hint system could point you in the right direction when you couldn't figure out what you needed to do next.

Will Probably Appeal to: People who enjoy FROGs and games with a quirky, steam-punkish atmosphere.

Will Probably Not Appeal to: People who prefer the traditional HOG/IHOG format

This was an original idea and I liked the quirkiness of the characters but the music was annoying after awhile and in certain places the graphics were a bit bright. it was hard to play this for a long period of time. i liked the graphics though. it was easy to play and the objects were mostly cleverly hidden. i would recommend the game. it was fun but just in small doses.

Just filling up the 'comments and reviews' with a continuous winner. Love it!
Been looking at the "Snark" games and kinda 'poo-poo'd' them. No more! Excellent and fun ... love the bouncy music. I think plenty of people are getting the idea - Buy this one! It can cause Happiness - like a warm and sunny day . Something we don't get much of in Oregon.

This was another game that showed up on the bottom of my game manager under "Games you might like" and I DID after demo-ing it! I just loved it...tons o'fun! I wonder if is maybe getting the hang of that "Games you might like" thing and matching it up with what the person actually might like now, LOL! Because for the longest time I was getting suggestions of either games I had already purchased of games in genre's that I absolutely detest and today I got two suggestions that were winners! ...Or maybe it was just luck on their part...who knows we will see if they have somehow figured out something in their programming that matches the persons purchasing patterns with the suggestions kind of like Amazon does, LOL! Well, anyway
I thoroughly enjoyed this game and I am not much of a FROG fan, but I did start to like them after the first Dark Parables game came out and will try them here and there. This was an absolutely delightful and fun story and fabulous graphics! I want to go SNARK HUNTING! What a fun game! I just love it!
I am wondering how I missed this and I am seeing that there are other wonderful games that I missed around the time this game came out and I think that's about the time my old computer started to give out on me so I think that explains it!
Well, I'm glad I'm catching up now! It's fun.

This game is brilliant! The graphics are fun, the storyline is fun, the heroine is fun. This is like cotton candy after a diet of bry bread and water.
I love the Steampunk feel to it, the music is so Speakeasy and the heroine is an independant and intelligent girl who won't be hampered by the overbearing men in her life. What a role-model ! Some of the puzzles are typical Hogs, but some are quite quite clever.
This is my go -to game when I just want to chill for a short period of time between stresses. No darkness, occult or *sigh* yet another vampire in this gem.

Kids, if you ever want to get Granny to play a computer game, try her out on this one. Then maybe she will "get" why computer games are so much fun.

Well done, devs!

For those of you who know me, this is BOUND to be a HUGE shock for you to hear. However, though I bought the first Snark Busters game several months ago (and played it just a little bit), I bought the sequel to it ("Snark Busters: All Revved Up" and played it RIGHT AWAY!).

Today, I FINALLY went back and played the FIRST Snark Busters. WOWOWOWOW!!!! I LOVEEEEEEE THIS GAME!!!!!! It's EXACTLY the kind of game I need, want, crave, hunger for, and ADORE! I've NEVER played a game with so much FUN, WHIMSY, UNEXPECTED SURPRISES, IMAGINATION, COLOR, UPBEAT MOOD, ENERGY, SILLINESS, and SHEER DELIGHT!!!!

There are NO COMPLAINTS FROM ME, about this game OR its SEQUEL! WAHOOOOOO!!!!!! As far as I'm concerned, there is NOTHING that could make these games BETTER, except, perhaps, bringing Kira back, since I ADORE her "rebellious nature", which hides a heart of gold!!!! (Oh yes, PLEASE "help" the pirate parrot "expire", before bringing Kira back to us, PLEASE!!!!!! I tried HARD to suffocate it, without success).

When I get married, I want THAT music played at my reception! It's SO "upbeat", happy, and dance-worthy, I can't imagine ANYONE just sitting in a chair, not wanting to get up and twirl, whirl, and prance around the dance floor! GREAT MUSIC! PERFECT for these games!!!!

Fabulous game with nice graphics, great music, fun characters and story-line. I'd recommend this to anyone and based solely on this, I bought the sequel as soon as it was released. It's a good game for people who enjoy hidden-object puzzle games, but don't want to spend hours peering into complicated photos. Rather, it balances this with puzzles, and pure fun from the story itself.

This was the only game here that motivated me to look up the designers and find out what other games they had made.

This game was just delightful! Bright, colorful graphics, a comical main character, interesting fantasy world, and catchy music. The steampunk theme was icing on the cake! The puzzles were too easy, but the hidden objects were straightforward and the problem-solving element was really a welcome change.

I'll definitely give the sequel a try, thumbs up to the first one!

love this game

Entertaining, but a bit confusing and repetitive at times.

THREE OF FIVE STARS

I played this at the very early stage of my gaming. After 5 months and NUMEROUS HOGS in all it's forms, I must come back to say how amazing this game is. I LOVED IT. It was funny, challenging, beautiful and by far one of the top 5 games of all time for me. The sequel unfortunately did not quite measure up to it but it is truly hard to improve on perfection.

This has been getting such positive reviews for so long when the DD came along w it I chanced the $2.99 . BOY am I glad i didn't pay full price! Graphics were bright but cartoonish, puzzles varied from easy to fustrating ( the alarm puzzle!) story was a bit simplistic ( for the Snark was a BOOJUM you see!)
But it was the objects to complete that really ticked me, many so small as to be the legal definition of miniscule AND the placement of some after u complete a task in a spot u have already searched. CRAP!

Well, I know I won't be buying the sequels but wish those who LOVED this game well.

Wow, after going through all ten pages of reviews I found only 12 out of 197 negatives. Makes me lucky 13.

The one plus of the game: the steampunk theme. That's it.

I like FROGs, and The Treasures of Mystery Island games (Ghost Ship and Gates of Fate) are two of my favorite overall BF games to play. But they are better than this game in many ways. First the graphics are realistic. Second, objects aren't broken into 50 pieces.

The character herself is annoying. Firstly, just because this is steampunk doesn't mean she should be wearing goggles. I am currently writing a novel in the steampunk genre and am immersed in research. She shouldn't be wearing them without a reason.

Graphics in this game are cartoonish and I am not the only one to say that, I know, but I'll say it again. I don't like cartoonish graphics. Depths of Betrayal is a steampunk game, but the graphics look real.

Ditzy dialogue also annoying. Oh, look, pirates, I'll get their attention and maybe they'll let me come aboard. Sweetie, Jack Sparrow is pure fiction. Ever see "Light at the End of the World" (assuming they have movies in your steampunk world)? The movie is fiction too but you'll see what really would happen to you in the company of a ship full of pirates. Maybe she's thinking of Gilbert and Sullivan.

When I first started playing I thought I might want it: steampunk, FROG like the Treasures of Mystery Island, but before the hour was up I realized that I just couldn't care less about snarks.

I purchased this game because all the reviews were so great....can't say I'm impressed. Found the game to be quite annoying in fact. Items are quite difficult to find at times, mini games don't always have a skip option so in order to move along I had to consult the walkthrough which I really hate to do because it causes me to exit the game and return....not fun. The ones that did have a skip option, the skip refreshed very slowly. Hints didn't always hint at what was really to be done next. Very confusing and frustration.

I had to turn that ridiculous music off...good grief. No rhyme or reason to the game. No, definately not the game for me I give it only a 2 for some degree of creativity. I can't believe I actually finished this game...
