Yes, I'm having the exact same issue. You can leave the game running when you're not playing but it's very annoying not to be able to quit when you want to.

I have to say I was rather disappointed in this game
I love the other hidden expedition games and the Ravenhearst games, so while I liked the putting things together to do things there were a few problems with this one

1. hints, i want my hints to well.... hint! not solve the puzzle for me! For example tuning on the water to make the explosive, not sure if I need to do something first or am missing something to make it work, I hit hint and tadaaa!!! the water is running, and me with no clue what made it work

2. not enough hidden objects, the rest of this series is primarily **** based not puzzle based, i think the focus went too far the other way on this one. whike i Enjoy the puzzles, someone who follows the series for the **** might not like this one as much.

3. was entirely too short, given the rest of the series i was expecting more play time than this, I felt I spent as much time running back and forth to fetch things and watching animations (lovely though they were) as I did solving puzzles. given the rest of the series and the quality of games like Ravenhearst I expected more content than this, The ending felt forced and rushed.

on the whole while I did enjoy the game I hope they work the bugs out of the next one, and maybe go back a bit to the series roots

granny2u wrote:Because it is only a 30 minute demo when it says 1 hr. is the reason I wont buy it. What are they hiding another really short game. The cut away scenes were a little out there!

I'm sure this is posted somewhere else in all these pages but I didn't have time to read through them all. My demo stopped at 30 min. as well but then I noticed the updated download and did that. The demo picked up right where I had left and let me finish the remaining 30 min. Hope that helps someone and sorry if it has been mentioned many times already.

I enjoyed the demo but am not sure if I want to buy yet, I don't care for the hints and seem to spend a lot of time not knowing exactly what the next step is. I guess that's part of the challenge!

slowness issues if you're using Kaspersky products

[Post New]by ihateshopping on Nov 4, 09 8:42 PM
an update on my previous post about "slowness."

while i DO need to get more RAM (just ordered 2 pairs of memory sticks to increase mine from 512mb to 4gb), my problem was actually my Kaspersky Internet Security 2010.

seems there's a problem with it doing automatic (sometimes continuous) rootscans that can't be turned off, even in "Game Play" mode. Kaspersky Lab is aware of this issue and a large number of people have posted about it in their forums. as of yesterday, a hotfix should be out as soon as their QA people are finished testing...any day now.

if you're having this problem, and can't wait, you can go to the forums for help. the last/best suggestion i got was to downgrade to KIS 2009 until the hotfix was out (don't look for any posts by ihateshopping; i use a different id). that was the day before i got the response about it being almost ready.

if you're not using Kaspersky, you'll have to find other solutions. mine was solved by simply going offline & shutting down Kaspersky. ended up not needing to shut down anything else regardless what i posted previously.

I just had to say that though I really like hidden object games and puzzles, the big problem is that most are just that. I usually just do the demo's and it's rare that I would ever buy one. However, after trying this game I had to buy it. I love the adventure, mystery and level of challenge that this game provides. BRAVO!! ALL OTHER GAME MAKERS TAKE NOTE lol. Can't wait for the conclusion.

I loved the variety and humor, and found the puzzles challenging but not too hard or unfathomable (thinking of some of the ones in Madame Fate, although I loved the game). However, I found the game WAY too short and hated the abrupt ending. I'll be looking for the sequel, though!

Tried the first demo and it was super short.

Noticed there was an updated version. I had a few minutes left from the first demo. Downloaded and tried it. Had to restart game and barely got to the newer scenes and the trial ended....

Think they should recompensate those who got their 1-hour trial time eaten up by the first demo.

I was very disappointed in this HE game. Everest is my favorite but Amazon was good, so I find this one several steps down in qualtiy. Several annoying glitches and uninteresting scenes. Hints please- not solving the puzzle! If I had tried the demo first (which I usually do) I would not have bought Devil's Triangle.

At least the cut scene was more interesting than many others of the 'to be continued' genre.

Another day, another cliffhanger....

Hopefully we don't have to wait too long.

I agree with other posters who want HINTS and not NEXT-STEP-SOLVED-FOR-YOU.

I loved the puzzles and the variety, but would also have liked a little more **** play.

I enjoyed the game very much, but was really angry when I got to the "END" and it was the first in a sequel! I had expected the game to last several days (like return to ravenhurst), but instead I got about 3 hours play out of it. There are still two more islands to explore, etc. Why do game developers have to go for this three part series now? And if they do, they should warn you AHEAD of time that you will have to buy more games to finish the story.
Dissapointed to say the least.

One of my favorite games yet! Really interesting, original, and challenging different kinds of games--not all just searching for the same lame items. I did have to resort to the walkthrough a couple of times, but I thought the game struck the right balance of challenge and fun! Five stars!

Either I am really tired or this game made no sense?! I actually had to cheat to get through the last half of the game and when I needed a hint, even if it was in the right area, it wouldn't give me the hint, and the ending... I guess it wasn't for me. On the bright side, it is a long game, the graphics are beautiful, and it is challenging. I loved Everest, Titanic, and Amazon. In playing the demo, I thought I would adore it, but it just reall confused me. Oh, but I like the MCF comment, thought that was clever!

I just finished the game last night. I really enjoyed it but I had to use the walkthrough a lot. I don't like doing that because it's cheating, in a way, but it was either resort to that or remain stuck. Anyway, it's a great game and I'm not sorry I purchased it. Maybe when I go back to play it again, I won't need the walkthrough as much.

I have to agree with you. I was extremely disappointed in this game. I am a huge HE fan..have all of the other ones and loved them. I play them over and over. This one I can't see the point to playing it again. It was too short, not enough hidden objects and I hated HATED the to be continued at the end. I felt cheated on this one.

I agree with LoomThe Elf, I did not like this game ,I kept losing things ,seeing pictures that later dissapeared .The only good thing about it was the hints ,if you got stuck in one of the mini games the hints would solve for you .A lot of fishes are going to be mad ,but i will not buy a second one.
