I regret that, but at the same time I think that we on the seniors thread should be allowed to discuss topics which, although outside the perimeter of gaming, interest us and provide meaningful discussion among those of us who are from an older generation. I truly do not believe that any of the folks that posted comments in the past few days meant to hurt anyone.

Yes that is very true but I also think that those of us from a older generation find it hard to keep an open mind and evolve in a new way of thinking, learn new things, the world changes with every generation, I know that I don't have some of the same values that my parent's generation did, sometimes people have a hard time accepting change.

I agree, I don't think any of the posts were disrespectful at all.

lordkalvan, thanks for the info about the X, I did not know that so I have learnt something today. But I still won't use it as I like the full word.

Keith, we have things happen like that all the time here, its very frustrating and can be funny too, thats a great example of PC going wrong and being so over the top its ridiculous.

Globetrotter, I realise of course that everyone is from all over the world and spelling can be different, and always forgive mistakes, they happen and its no big drama. It was that word in particular that was so constantly being spelt wrong that drove me nuts. And bfgBeruna, thank you for adjusting your spelling on it, glad you listened. Its more because it really is a different word spelt the other way. And then of course, there is the different spellings between countries, particularly the swapping of z and s between US and English words, that are the same word and meaning but both spellings are correct, I use the English usually. You might all notice that when I spell words like 'colour' and so on, that I use the English 'our' not the US 'or' but its still the same word. Spellcheck has the US version usually because its microsoft so many people think that is correct English when it is not, but its ok but thats perhaps why the US spellings have crept into the English language.

And one more thing, going back to the Easter issue Keith raised, seeing as Easter is now not too far away, I have never ever understood why rabbits and eggs are so associated with each other. I get that eggs are a renewal thing, but what have rabbits got to do with it? They don't even lay eggs!

Rabbits, for obvious reasons, have, like eggs, long been associated with fertility and new life. There is even a link to the Virgin Mary. [Removed by Moderator]

I sometmes forget that I can achieve my goals without removing all the litter on a board, so I waste moves trying to “clean up” the board. Am I alone in this?

Segue: there’s bunches of interesting stuff on the Easter Bunny on Google.

You are not alone. I also waste moves removing chains on spots that don't need to be cleared.

Oh no, you are absolutely not alone... and the times that I have treated myself to a shovel for the last gummy only to find that I didn't get the required score

Oh yes I have to resist the very strong urge to "clean up" the board when there is no value in doing so. And Globetrotter, the shovel/point shortage has happened to me so many times, usually on timed levels.

Building the monument at Toronto 80 unlocks the animation of the two gummies having a snowball fight. So cute!

I too often overlook how many more points are required to get through the level and do the same thing, use a boost thinking it will do the trick only to find out how unobservant I was, to my utter dismay. And same goes for clearing the board when its not needed. I empathise with you all, it's so easy to be complacent. But it pulls me up short every time, and I say to myself to stop being so reckless, take care next time to always check first but I get slack. Also, another aspect like this is to get so focussed on the next move as gummies are falling, thinking that will be a great move, only to make it and at the exact same moment notice that had I only checked the board first, I could have made a move elsewhere next to make a which would have been more helpful, so again, I kick myself for being so reckless, say to myself to stop going so fast and take time, I really do need to take my own advice. We are all guilty.

Just came back from the movies, saw The Greatest Showman with Hugh Jackman. Sensational movie, highly recommended, was entertaining from the first moment to the end.

Hi folks from overcast Edmonton Alberta. We had a bit if a "chinook" in the weather yesterday. Shot up from frigid -23 celius to 0 in 6 hours. Thats like -10 fahrenheit to
+32F. Not much wind with that though. Still plugging the car in though.
I am having a new problem with gummy drop on my iPhone. It keeps crashing and I lose the life. Only one or two levels out of 10 or 15 completed. On my other game on my iPad, it plays fine and I can stream videos so I do not think it is my internet. Should I delete and reinstall the game on my iPhone? I am linked to facebook so will my game be saved?
I read the other chat threads about this but no one seemed to say it actually worked.
Anything else I should try first?

Check your iPhone to make sure it is using the same wifi as your iPad. If for some reason it is on cellular or some other wifi, that would explain the drops.

Thanks. I checked on that and they are both on the same wi-fi, mine, dedicated to the first floor. It is still crashing.

Next thing I'd check is amount of free space and memory. If the iPhone has less of one of those than the iPad, it might be the issue. Hmmmm... or if some other app is running on the iPhone. Have you tried playing in airplane mode most of the time to see if that helps?

Thanks playing in "airplane mode" seems to work. I tried turning off wi-fi and played on cellular and it crashed. I have 80% of my phone memory free.

I also closed all the apps and it still crashed. Only mail was running. That is the same as always.
Thanks for your help

Hey mollythecat,

We share the same city, beautiful Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and I agree it has been a cold and nasty one so far this year. Not a lot of snow yet but I am sure that will come as well. One thing about Alberta is you only need to count to ten and the weather can change dramatically. I can live with the cold though not like our neighbors in the U.S. where they deal with fires and flooding, hurricaines and tsunamis. It is heartbreaking and scary for them depending on which part of the U.S. they live in. When disaster strikes I keep the people affected in my mind and my heart and try my best to support them financially if I am able.

Best regards
Glitter

The last 10 Levels in Toronto are absolutely horrendous! The developers have got a taste for sand and ice combined with having to unwrap big gummies in level 113. I was using my 1 hour infinite lives and ended up having to use boosts as well and then a couple of later levels were nigh impossible if I had just been backing out of unsuitable boards I would have used up my hour and been no better off! Level 120is a timed one so I am leaving that till a much later time! Good luck everyone!

Hi Glitter, yes the nastiest winter weather in a long time. But no flooding or mudslides. Something to be grateful for.
