I've found a major design flaw in the game that leads me not to recommend it, even at the $2.99 price. Not only do you spend an inordinate amount of time on one screen, with 5 "levels," (boring....), BUT, when you finally do go to a map to get to the next screen, you're in for a most unpleasant surprise if you're not extremely careful with your click on a location. By mistake, I clicked the same location I had just visited and couldn't get out of it! There is no map option, and I would have been forced to play the same 5 series all over again. No way! Not being able to access the map is a design flaw, in my judgement. Sorry....

I have had this game for quite a while now and understand what you are saying but I don't think it is a design flaw. The game will automatically advance to the next stage and all you have to do is click the play button in the bottom right corner under the list of stages. The list is good if you want to replay a stage. Is it really a flaw for it to think you meant to replay?

The list will also allow you to begin a new game after a finish without having to go back to the opening page.

Hi all,

Is anyone else having trouble with playing the game. I have updated my video card to the lastest, and have downloaded the game twice, and it still will not work. Thanks for any help out there.

Hi Lipper58 - I went ahead and bought it thinking the full paid version may unlock the problem but I'm still having trouble opening the game. While loading the game the NEVOSOFT logo appears, then the BF logo (both are full screen) then it goes to the opening pix of the game and there's a blue bar starting to run across the bottom which says "LOADING" which gets about half way done then BOOM! The screen goes black and a smaller window pops up "Pirateville has encountered a problem and needs to close …” . Sending report to Microsoft gives me no further information. I've rebooted to get a fresh start but have the same result. I have bought lots of NEVOSOFT games and have never had a problem and never one loading the game that I can remember. I've sent a message to Big Fish - hopefully they have a fix - I really wanted to play this game this weekend! If you figure out something let me know and I'll do the same (I even went to the nevosoft website but didn't find anything).

I had the same problem! I removed the game and redownloaded it twice---still would not open> I was going to remove it completely and not buy>> but I was interupted and decided to turn off my computer completely. When I returned later.....and turned it back on.....the game started without the notice and completed the blue loading box. I have been playing the game since and really like it!!!!
