Nails on planks to make bridge

No matter where I place the nails (I do have the hammer) I can't make them "stick".
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This worked for me - lay the 4 planks; click on nails in inventory then click each side of each plank. Nails should then be there, but sticking up. Pick hammer from inventory and hammer down.

The only thing I can think of is that you need to look at where the sharp tips are going - they need to be placed so the tips are in position, not the middle of the nail.

In fact, you should be able to place them almost anywhere on the planks.

ALL the planks need to be in position first.

If they just won't go, you might just need to skip this puzzle.
