Need help please in portrait room and need something to cut the vines to place golden switch handle. Cannot find anything. Thanks

You don't cut the vines you need to go back out and use the handle that goes into the slot next to the door.

Did that but it doesn't remove the vines. What about the disk on the floor. Did I miss that?
