Damp Rope in Prison

I know I need to use the wine in the carafe to permeate the rope, making it more flammable; I've wasted 3 hints on this problem. But I can't seem to find *where* to position the carafe so that it pours on the rope.

Please help?

Be careful where you put your pointer, it must be on the rope. I don't remember exactly the spot, but I think it's near the center of the rope. The "mouse pointer" must be on the rope. This game is sensitive that way.

The rope you should be trying to burn is the Chandelier rope, with the box under it. Do you have the box under it? There's a wood box on the table that must be placed on the floor under the Chandelier. Once the box breaks, you get the key to the door.

Thank you! I thought I was being careful but as it turned out, I'd not filled the carafe with the wine so that was the problem, rather then placement of the carafe.

I feel a bit silly over it but at least I finally figured it out.
