I love the looks of this game, but after playing for 15 minutes got very irritated with all the sparkles, there is NO CHALLENGE. Even in the hidden objects game, it highlights what you are near so you can't miss objects. Too bad it is so easy, I like to take in a scene and really look and appreciate the artwork, and think for myself what my next move is, but with things constantly sparking at me for my attention...well you get my drift. It's like you are playing the walkthrough...Really a shame IMHO.

I was hugely disappointed in this game. I'm a BIG fan of Alaware but this one just didn't do it for me. I could live with the sparkles, but it was just too easy. I mean the first puzzle I came across, they actually tell you how to do it. I want to figure that out by myself -- not that I couldn't have in this case anyway. You find something, you turn right around and use it - boring.

This is a great game for beginners or for somebody who just wants to relax and play a game without having to think too hard. The graphics are terrific and the sound is good. I like the fact that there's no drawn out intro where the developers can impress us with just how good their graphic skills are. You're just right into the game. I give them big points for that.

I quit after about 10 minutes because I was just simply bored.

Yes, I was bored, too! The first game was the very first HOG I purchased and I loved it. I always try all the VHOGs. Howqever, when you are used to playing Ravenhurst, Dire Grove, etc., the Vampire Saga sequel is way too juvenile. If I am going to buy a HOG, I like to work at it.

Loved it! Creepy, shadow figures with red eyes! What's not to like. Really too easy, but I like it. Going to buy after I finish the demo. I like the glowing object names when you get close. Saves clicking on a lot of objects that you don't want. Lots of places to explore, things to do, H0 scenes, etc. Spiders creeped me out! I hate spiders, and snakes. I haven't seen any snakes yet! Definite buy!

The game appears to be very interesting, but it’s not a patch on the first one “Pandora’s Box“, which was a little gem.

I played the full demo and tried to ignore the sparkles and explosions, and just as I was thinking that they had eased off a bit my trial time ran out, so I'm not really sure.

I’m in agreement with most of the comments on this game, “Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay Tooooooooooooo much hand holding“.

Maybe the dev’s will read our comments and re-release this game with an ‘Advanced Mode’ option “sans sparkles“. It’s very unlikely I will buy this game as it is.

Are the HOG scenes junk piles? I won't even demo a junk pile HOG>

I can't believe I'm saying this: Too Much Hand-holding!

I'm not very good at Adventure games; always need the
walkthrough; frequently need to use a hint in the H0 scenes
and often just feel befuddled; but this doesn't feel like I'm
playing a game, just doing what I'm told to do.

For the first time ever, I'd like a "hard" option. Wow.

I loved the 1st Vampire Saga, was excited to see this
one offered, but am now disappointed. Will put buying
on hold to see if anything is changed by developer or
if players who finish can tell me it gets harder.

And it looks like such a good story, too. Sigh.

edit for spelling.

Timekilla gave an excellent review (actually the best review to me in ages - funny witty and informative at the same time).

Because of this and others review not even go to try it - honestly why devs the hand holding and no option? If I wanted to play a game with a walkthrough - I'd look at a walkthrough!

Too many games still to play, so glad because of the reviews - saves me wasting time demoing this and can use that time to play the other DDs I bought recently. thanks fishies for the headsup

FANTASTIC GAME!!

The graphics were awesome to say the least! I had the best time looking for the hidden objects that I did not want to use the hint button at all! I think out of all the hidden object games, this was a first for me not wanting to use the hint button. The hidden objects scenes were not cluttered, and objects were easily identifiable and this is a HUGE PLUS in my book!
The storyline was engrossing from the get go!
I really enjoyed the adventure part of this game with finding objects in order to complete a task. Kudos to the developer for not making this one as easy as it appears!
I also appreciated using the photos as an "interactive map'! This game really has it ALL!
There were a few times that I was stumped, and even enjoyed trying different objects to retrieve an item. I don't know how many time I tried different objects to find out the "population"...grin I also got a kick out of the hidden objects game asking for a "brush", and oh no, not just "any" brush as there were at least five from which to choose.
I wish the game were longer as I thoroughly enjoyed every minute!!
I'm eagerly anticipating the next installment of this game!!

Nope, Nada, No Not for me. Firstly, those sparkles or flashes or what the heck they are distract and annoy the stuffins out of me. Why not just flash a message in huge letters saying "HERE, DUMMY". Then, as others have posted there is the issue of (shudder) spiders. When I saw the pile of the horrible things on a bed, I just backed out and ran away. Other then that, I love the game LOL.

I don't mind playing "easy" mode usually, but this game definitely needs an advanced mode. The 'handholding" in the HOG scenes is tooooo much. You don't even need to look for objects, just watch your list for words that turn green?! Also, I'm worried about all the tech issues that fishies are having - wishing I'd demoed longer before hitting "buy now". I am enjoying the game, but there are definitely some irritants.

O well this is a game that I won't bother to even demo unless they get rid of the flashing lights. If there's an update then I'll more than likely at least try it. *sigh*

GAME DEVELOPER PAY ATTENTION!!!

This game should be redesigned and reissued with a "no sparkle" option. You folks really blew it by not including that, and it's such a shame since otherwise the game is beautifully designed and would otherwise be one that, I think, a lot of us would be including in our "best" lists.

I put my review in the review section, but I will concur with everyone here, this could be a awsome game, but PLEASE get rid of the very bright flashes!

I did not make 15mins of trial because of the lights and I am not light sensitive, but dang my eyes started hurting. I also play the easy option even though I have played these games for years.

Too bad really, I would of loved to have seen the full game.

Wow, who thought those sparkles were a good idea? At least give us the option to turn them off. I couldn't even enjoy the game and look around because they were so distracting.
I get headaches/migraines and sparkles usually don't bother me, but I can honestly say this game was giving me a headache. Had to quit.......

I differ from the vast majority of posters in terms of the sparkles. I love them! Being not as savvy as probably most of the gamers, I'm much too impatient to ramble through the game. I do, however-agree that there should be an option available for those who would prefer not to have them.

I don't mind sparkles because I can always use a nudge in the right direction, but this game was a little heavy handed. And I absolutely hated the extra-extra nudge in the HOG scenes with the words changing color as you get near the object.
But all in all I enjoyed the game, even though I figured out the outcome very early on.
Not as long as your average HOG, but still worth a credit in my book.
