I knew about those tips re access violation but they didn't help. I had the access violation at the pipe puzzle twice (as stated previously). It didn't make any difference playing with GM or not. I just went in to play the game as an adminstrator. Usually right clicking on properties on shortcut would do it, but it was greyed out. I can't remember exactly what I did, but fiddled around in the properties and that eventually solved it for me. And I am playing with GM, and actually playing either way works.

As playing on windows 7, I have everything set for auto updates so I knew that wasn't the problem. I was worried it was my nvidia graphics card as that has caused problems in the past, but thankfully it's not.

Any ideas how I can get this window to full screen?
I'm happy to say this is the very rare occasion I've had to write here. I hope someone has a suggestion.

did you try the maximize button on game? when I play in window mode and then want full screen I usually click the maximize button.

Thanks for the suggestion crazy8clcub, But I guess you missed the part in my original post that stated that the Maximize Button is greyed out. I'm also not able to double click on the top bar of the window to maximize it that way.

Linda.

This was an in game message - not a 'window' like most error messages but in the game font.

This is the second time this has happened to me, the first time was on the first day with the new GM, when it wiped two games I owned and restarted several games I was a fair way along with including the one I was currently playing, again with an 'in game' error message not a microsoft window (I think it was the casino TM game all those weeks back)

Soooooo, flaky game or flaky GM (still).

I'm almost afraid to check my other games.

same problem here only i backed all the way out of the game now i have to start over, i was at the pt of sailor game

Welcome to the pond jjhilburn. Looks like you, Moi and I are just going to have to tread water for a couple of days. As you can see, I took bfgArnoStyx's advice and it didn't work for me. I'm playing on Windows 7 64bit.

For 3yrs I have had no problem with a game screen having 3 inch black bars until the game stub was installed yesterday. Never had to change screen resolution. This game looks like part of the game screen was cut off.

Yep, you know what? I wonder if the issue isn't our computers but the new Game Manager and it's settings. Although alot of people ARE able to play and for that I'm a wee bit jealous...LOL I'm still going to wait for Monday and talk with the teckies.

Linda.

P.S. Editing my post to comment on crazy8club's post. Same here. I haven't had any problems before this new version of the Game Manager that this game required to install. I wonder how we can go back to the old version?

this new game manager eats mothballs. I have decided it is not worth the stress of having to un-install and re-install 3 to 5 x now. freezes and then I have to start all dang over with a NEW PROFILE. I wonder sometimes if these game web sites just change things to cause all these headaches. I see now why some are getting a little upset. I have a new PC with more than what it requires for the game to run.

I honestly think it is the game stub as I had no problem playing games yesterday.

Is anyone else having this problem.

Wow does it! Overheated the video card twice shutting down the computer. Using a temperature monitoring program, I noticed while the intro loaded that the temp climbed over 20 degrees. After that point I gave up.

I posted this under "Installing Stub" but wanted to post it here too for others to see:

Well, all your posts about not being able to open/download previously purchased games got me to thinking. I've been able to open all the games that I've purchased that are currently in my Game Manager. HOWEVER, they ALL open with a small window that is the same size as the Game Manager. I say THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. If I wanted to play a game with three inch black areas around all for sides of the game, I'd play on my phone. Boy I sure hope they fix THAT bug. I have 4 punch card credits I want to use, but if all the games are going to be played in the window the size of a 6"x6" box, I won't be purchasing anything until the screen is full sized like it used to be.

Linda.

After reading the posts here I'm not sure whether my problem belongs to the game or to the new GM, because it is the first game I tried to play with the new GM that downloaded today.

I didn't get very far, I opened the mailbox and was trying to solve the box puzzle when my monitor just went black. Blue light (signal from computer) to orange light (no signal at all). Not a monitor problem because I also use it for my tv, and the tv signal came through just fine. I had to hard boot my computer.

Sounds to me like it must might be a graphics card problem, but is it the game or the GM? I *really* don't want to fry my graphics card finding out!

This game keeps glitching-first time on the pipe puzzle, then the bas relief, and now it just freezes. BFG- I'm getting tired of spending money for games that don't work. I'm a loyal customer, but I feel like I'm just throwing money away now.

i have had no problems with blackouts or error messages...
what i have is a missing disc at the temple. i started out there as grandma directed, and found the one in the skull. i went on to the other sites, and when i came back i used the saw to find the second disc, only to find the first one mysteriously gone.
i have tried everything i know and cannot solve (or skip) this situation. i guess it sucks to be me, cuz i think i will have to go back to the beginning and completely replay the game for this one and final disc. grrrrrrrr

No buy for me. I haven't had to do this dance with other games and don't plan on doing with this one either. A definite no buy for me. Too much trouble.

Am having the same problem with the pipe puzzle. I did manage to pick up one piece, then the game froze up and couldn't do anything......but I did not receive any error messages. Until this is fixed "NO BUY" here.

Big Fish Games needs to fix their instructions. The directions you have for accessing the "Security Tab" when running as administrator is not available in Windows XP Home, only Professional.

I realise doing "alt and tab" a lot through a game, it doesn't like it.

But now after being able to tweak it yesterday to play it all the way through once - it doesn't like me again and is crashing my whole computer. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it only to get two different messages.

1) I have a game running (I don't as I can run other games of GM and I checked my task manager.)
2) and a error message 803400, after reinstalling. Which is to do with "data execution prevention" but I double checked and the box is still ticked "turn on DEP for essential services..." so it's not that.
It is frustrating especially as it was working and just wanted to play it, to get a bit further in a walkthrough.

i'm having the same problem...if there are any error messages they can't be seen because the game opens in a small screen with no scroll bars or window scaling available...have installed and reinstalled...lost time on "try it"...sure as heck won't be buying it!

I hadn't had any problems at all until mostly through the game. I'm at the Town Hall and I opened the box where the mini-game is to connect the gears. I only have one gear, however, so I went to close it. There is no "X" to close the window, it won't close; there's nowhere to click, the whole screen is black except for that game, and there's no hint leaf or anything showing. I tried placing the one gear I have but that wouldn't work either.

I shutdown the game, then the computer, reinstalled the game, reinstalled with administrative privileges - everything - but it's still hung-up in that one spot and I can't get out of it. Anybody else have the problem? or better yet, a solution?
