You all are wonderful...do I invest in the CE or wait?
As I said in an earlier post, I tend to not even play the bonus chapter...
You all are some of the best critics... I trust your comments.
Side note here - I am glad to hear Valdy does get some sleep!

We all need to rant once in a while. Done it myself, but I do
count Twenty non-CE games released since July l.
I bought two of them.

I almost always buy the CE's, but I don't spend $13.99 every day. There are always SE's and games in other genres to buy that you may have not played.

Different Strokes for all us different fishies. When there were ALOT of HOG's being put out other fishies complained where this or that. Be patient go into the search file and try something else. I love HOG's but when I don't have one my favorite go to game is Pearl Diversion Just saying we all love the games a different way.

RedSox4evr wrote:20?! And all 20 are HOG's? I don't think so. Except for one or two, all of the hog's have been CE's.
Here is a list of the Standard Edition HOG games that have been released on BFG in the past 30 days. Some of them are really good.

A Vampire Tale
Chronoclasm Chronicles
Clairvoyant: The Magician Mystery
Dark Heritage: Guardians of Hope
Final Cut: Death on the Silver Screen
Flux Family Secrets: The Book of Oracles
Ghost Whisperer
Haunted Hotel: Charles Dexter Ward
Howlville: The Dark Past
Mystic Diary: Missing Pages
Pride & Prejudice: Hidden Anthologies
Rite of Passage: The Perfect Show
Royal Detective: The Lord of Statues
Shattered Minds: Encore
Sister's Secrecy: Arcanum Bloodlines
Titanic's Keys to the Past

I hope you find a game and have fun!

I'm thrilled about this game because I love Sci-fi! I'm torn, though, because I am considering getting the CE (I usually opt for SEs) but they're having the $2.99 blowout this weekend and I have games on a short list for that. Have to do some thinking.

I did not think that it was appropriate for the game to indicate that the girl slept with her new fiance the night before. When she wakes up the first thing she does is look for him in her bed. It was totally uncalled for. Aren't these games supposed to be family-value type games?

I was going to wait until next month, but after playing the demo my mouse turned into a Ouija Board. I had no control over my pointer and when it was over I had purchased the game. ;^) No regrets yet

CathyCatfish wrote: ok, fishies.... i need some help deciding... i usually opt for the SE, but am always worried that the bonus chapter carries on the story line.

so, someone said in the reviews (on the home page for eternal journey: new atlantis) that the bonus chapter ADDS to the story...

can anyone clarify?
these games are my guilty pleasure and i can't afford to drop $14 each for all the CEs that come out...

help me, fishies! please?
I played the main game in 4 1/2 hours and the bonus game in 1 1/2 hours. The story in the main game is told by Amrite the female lead character. The story in the bonus game was told by (spoiler) someone who arrived at the planet a couple of days before Amrite. You get to see a little of what happened before Amrite got there. It doesn't change the ending but it gives you a different perspective of what happens leading up to the ending of the main game. I am glad I bought it but I used some of the half price game credits that I got on sale so it only cost me $6.99.

LizzieK thanks so much for the info and for how long it took you. As I was worried that the bonus chapter would only be as long as the other chapters.

edit - Forgot to thank you for your review, I did look for it in main page so I could vote on it but couldn't find you, so saying thanks here. Really helpful info.

Shame it continues in having easy puzzles, was worried that would be the case.

Hi there,
I have to say a huge THANKYOU to the developers for actually presenting us with a game I would classify as worthy of being called Sci-Fi.
And thankyou for having no sparkles in the game in the harder mode - and also for the nice touch that enabled us to disable the "hints" in the map so we could still use it to travel. Great idea.
I have enjoyed my time immensely and the end of the Main Game is extremely satisfying - and long on the harder mode.
I didn't collect all of the "special items" as I was too engaged in the story.
I haven't played the Bonus Game yet, saving it for after my meal.
Well worth giving this game at least a trial.
Cheers

PS Did anyone else think that Michael had "nice buns". LOL

I bought the game.

Happy gaming, fishies!

Have to agree with this comment. So nice to get a SciFi theme to a game.

These comments are much appreciated....I still haven't finished the game, but as I said in one of my earlier posts...what a 'fluid game. Also, take note, look at the tech problems...none, that tells you something also, right?

Finished the Bonus game now. Excellent !! Really liked it.

The whole story was really well done, and I very much enjoyed playing both the main and the bonus game. Thank you, developers, for this truly wonderful game.
