But what does it MEAN?? Is it Chuckles taunting us, or is Madame Fate sending us a message from... the great beyond... (insert spooky music here).

I think "some things never change" just means that our MD is back doing what we love best...... solving a new mystery with her powerful investigative skills.
I forgot to say before that it's great to see you in the pond Picman!!

somethings never change
I know it's only a 1-letter, really 1-word difference, but isn't it:
(highlight below to read)
"Some things I never change"?
...this does mean that we have someone specific talking to us.

Are there any characters who've appeared in some form in all, or nearly all of the games? The mysterious Frenchman, perhaps? I really don't think this is going to be Ravenhearst-centered this time, so I dunno if that's Charles talking. Maybe Felix?
I like the idea of the return to HOGs rather than MOs, but is there anything that's been truly constant throughout the series? Other than that there's always something new?

Ok, dunno if this counts, but, I've noticed, at least in DG, 13th, and EFR, each game has a Fleur-de-lis somewhere, either in a HO scene or somewhere else.
Probably nothing, but just something I noticed.

Welcome back Picman!
For those fishies wondering about FB posts, that goes back to the first spec thread and I realized/remembered the reason I started my FB account - so I could friend Rose Ravenhearst and see screenshots of the game (Return to Ravenhearst).
I'm not hooked on this series. Not at all. No addiction here. Nope, no obsession either!
Also, when I'm reading forum posts on my Kindle Fire, I don't have the ability to white-out text OR highlight to read. Not that I expect to solve very many clues! I mostly bow to the brilliance of other fishies. It's great to see so many of you back again this year.
So welcome back and what does it all mean?
Picman's welcome seems very lengthy for a single clue...

YAY! The best Halloween present ever...
Here's a rundown of all the clues so far, I think...if I've missed any, remind us 'k?
- the Ravenhearst picture on Facebook (the magnifying glass)
- The Paranormal Investigator job posting
- 'X'
- Coffin
- 'Some Things Never Change'
(I still think there's something we're not seeing in the Halloween pictures they posted tonight...but there I go again...all paranoid and stuff...)
Did I miss any? Do we care about all these clues? What is Madame Fate's real name? Haha!

Fleur-de-lis and a Frenchman, nice possibility! I've been hoping we'd find out who he is, at some point.
On a totally random tangent, I started wondering why the profile photo on the MCF Facebook page is just a number 22, and has been since...well...since I started looking at it, anyway. It seemed a little random.
The first thing I turned up when I googled "Twenty-Two" is a Twilight Zone episode by that name. In it, a character has a recurring nightmare (which she's convinced is real) where she's approaching a morgue numbered "22," and a nurse invites her to join the residents therein. The doctor insists that it's just a dream, and suggests that she change details of the dream slightly. She's able to adjust some details inside the dream, but not the ending and not the room number.
On leaving the hospital, she finds herself on Flight 22...which explodes on takeoff.
Way out on a limb here, but if the "22" is the thing that doesn't change in that episode is what's Never Changing," maybe in the new game we're inside someone's nightmare? Or we can't tell if it's a dream or reality?

99 cups of Joe on the desk
99 cups all brewed
I'll drink them down
while sitting around
awaiting another clue!
98 cups of Joe on the desk
98 cups all brewed
I'll be around
while you sleep so sound
awaiting another clue!
97 cups of Joe on the desk
97 cups all brewed
I'll toss em back
to keep me on track
awaiting another clue!
96 cups of Joe on the desk
96 cups all brewed
my eyeballs are jolting
my back teeth are floating
Wait!!!! I'll be back for my clue!
