I enjoyed the trial and the timer didn't bother me. The words I missed I don't think I would have figure out even if there wasn't a timer. Never heard of them.
I didn't like the limited dictionary either. I play Word Cube a lot, and that accepts every word in the regular dictionary. This one doesn't, so it's a bit of time wasted.
I wondered about the reuse of the clues since most of these games seem to be limited. I'm glad I read that the clues repeat themselves so soon, because that means I won't be buying this game.

I have Bookworm Adventures too but haven't played it in a looooong time, thanks for the reminder
I ADORED Bookworm Adventures! Correct me if I'm wrong, but pretty sure no timer on that one. In fact, the longer word you made the better you did, as opposed to quick make any short word because times running out. Would love to see a sequel to that.

I really like this game & bought it. It is easier then the first Word Whomp and has more to it to keep it from getting repetitious. It has an easy, medium and hard mode. I feel the timer is a lot more generous then in the 1st WW and have not had any problems with it yet, but I am still playing easy mode (since I haven't played WW in quite a while). It does have a glitch for me. Every time I start the game it takes me 10 minutes of tweaking to get the video acceleration to turn off. It runs like caca with it on.
One of the very first PC games I played (on-line) was Word Whomp. I had a hard time getting all the words completed in a round before running out of time (and that was on easy mode). I kept playing the game every night (nothing else to do back then) and in no time I was whizing through medium mode and doing fairly well on hard mode.
TIP: When the letters come up to spell words, start with the first letter and make all the words you can that start with that letter. Then move onto the 2nd letter and make all the words you can starting with that letter, etc., etc. If there is 1 or more "S's" in your tray, always remember to add an S at the end of most words already completed. If you see the letters E/D or E/R or I, N, G in your tray (especially if you also have double T's, L's, O's, etc.), then you can almost bet your biggest word will end with ed, er or ing.
Example.... breed - breeder - breeding. sue - suer - sued. The letters L & Y usually come at the end also. love - loves - lovely - lover - loved - loving. Many times you can make several words out of the original

I didn't notice that. Which words are not proper words?
