Mistyskye,

You can get pet food by doing the rounds of the HOS, the wheel of fortune, the crafting wheels. It gets issued randomly. If you have enough of the correct pet food in your inventory then all you do is click on your pet to feed it.

It would make sense that pets requiring more bags of food would bring more valuable chests, on average, but I have had a snail, requiring 15 bags of special food bring back a wooden chest with ZERO stacks of money and only a couple of wands and/or white stamps TWICE in a row! I've also had a manticore needing only 8 sacks of simple food bring back a gold chest, but only once.

I do think whatever treasure a pet brings back is truly random, and maybe the only exception being the Snow Griffin, the free pet not needing to be crafted, as I have never once had a Snow Griffin bring back anything of decent value.

I wouldn't recommend spending too much on the wheel for an egg. There are so many wonderful people here that will happily give you an egg. Just put a request for an egg up on the "Egg to Trade" thread. If you do, make sure to include your friend code so that if someone has an egg for you, they can send you a friend request. Also make sure to put the egg up on your wish list to make it easier for them to gift it to you.

The eggs can be costly to hatch in both coin & materials, so I'd also like to recommend that you decide on which 4 pets you want. 4 pets for the 4 types of food. And just stick with those until your are comfortably rich.

About 3 weeks ago, I decided to stop playing normal quests and concentrating on acquiring as many eggs as I can. My goal is to craft every pet. I made a chart showing the total number of unique stamps, pet medallions, post cards, and cash needed to craft every pet. I have put on hold my regular game, the only thing I am doing is playing daily quests, and playing all the HOS (through level 24) 2 or 3 times daily. I need about 130 post cards to craft my remaining uncrafted pets, which will take me less than a month more, gifting 5 friends a day. I need about a thousand more pet medallions, which seems like a ton, but I am earning about 150 a week doing daily quests, I figure it will take me just a few more weeks to collect the necessary pet medallions. I need 24 unique stamps, which I have now, and if I keep earning more of them, I may consider gifting some of them in the near future. I need 140,000 coin to craft my remaining pets, I earn about 2000-3000 a day playing through HOS 2-3 times daily. I figure I will have the necessary coin in about 6 weeks, or so.

When I finally do acquire all the necessary items to craft all my remaining pets, I will then update my wish list on eggs I need to acquire, less eggs I expect to earn through achievements.

The only time I spent real currency was the gem special that occasionally popped up 250 for 99cents (I think that was the sale), I used these gems only to purchase items to help me get through daily quests earning pet medallions)

At that time (about two months from now) I will resume playing regular quests, also knowing I will have a massive inventory to help me move forward at a satisfying pace.

This may be a stupid question, but since I don't know the answer to it I'll ask. How does one get pet food. I only seem to get one after sending out the airship. I currently have 37 HOS's open and occasionally get one or two doing the HOS's. I've got 15 Simple Food (rarely do I have more), 3 Rare Food and 162 Unique Food (I get these most after sending an airship. I have no Special Food. I am barely able to get enough food to feed my poor Griffith twice a day and that is only with the help of the friends on my list. I'm also noticing many of the friends on my list have pet food on their wish list as well.

Put it on your wish list and friends will gift you some, also I think if you have it on your list it tends to drop from the HOS,s more frequently.

Has anyone put together a list of how much Pet eggs sell for? The very helpful pet lists I've found on this forum, include the cost to buy the pet eggs in diamonds - but i think it would also be helpful to know how much pet eggs sell for in coins - this would be especially helpful when i see eggs on the wheel, that i already possess, and try to determine how many spins i should play for them. don't want to spend 1000 coins to find out the egg only sells for 300 coins, etc.

thanks in advance!

Hi All..... Here is a new list with the "Sleep/ Down Times" listed. This way, everyone will know how long it takes before the pet wakes up. I would like to thank KayteCat and kiki for helping me out. The list is not in alphabetical order, but in the order of how much food they eat. Hope this helps out any new players in knowing how long it takes before the pet will re-awaken.

Is there any rhyme or reason to how chests come up for pets? I think I would be getting a better chest then end up with a wooden chest. Is there a way to improve which chest is received? Even when using pets that take more food, the chests can come up with minimums.

Some people have taken many hours to find out pet "tells" as to when and where they will give gold chests.....

Check out the thread from the Helpful Hints for Midnight Castle called: All Pets / Tells / Favorite Locations (Seasonal/Regular/Achievement/Exclusive(Level 69)Pets)
