Interesting. Thank you Sunnyglow for letting me know!

You are so welcome Didersham. And thanks for the Facebook update as well, mhatie. Since I have had numerous problems from online peepers, weirdos and stalkers with Facebook, (geesh and yuck) I avoid it. I do have one but it is pretty well "hidden" with access to only my friends and family. I have not read it - so thank you so much for the info. You are a doll to bring this to all of us. Oops! Have to go. Thanks all for a great forum today everyone.

Churchill Downs? I bet that explains the emphasis for the past week or so on "free to play" games that basically make you spend many small amounts of money (called "microtransactions" - and they build up fast) to buy things that make it much easier to move up in the levels. (Remember when BF said it wasn't going to do those any more, except for "Casino?")

"The company, based in Louisville, Ky., owns five racetracks, including Churchill itself, where the Kentucky Derby horse race is run. It has half a dozen casinos from Florida to Maine. And it owns an online gambling business..." (NYT, 3 days ago) Why do I suspect that it was "Casino" that attracted them?

I predict fewer and fewer CEs, HOGs and any other game that doesn't make money after the initial purchase is made. Not to mention the gradual death of the Game Club.

Guess I'll have to return to Diablo III. And DL all my BF games on to one computer dedicated to games only. (I mean, where's the sense in keeping all those files available? Where's the money in that!) I was planning on doing that with one of my old laptops - having my local, and excellent, computer store rebuild it with that in mind. I reckon I'll have to get off my duff, dent my savings, and do it.

Oh, well, let's count our blessings. At least it isn't EA. (http://consumerist.com/2013/04/09/ea-makes-worst-company-in-america-history-wins-title-for-second-year-in-a-row/)

...I wonder how soon this post will be taken down?

For those of you who do not go on FB, Big Fish also has a YouTube channel and you can watch Jessica there. There is a new video every Monday, and she and Carlos update everything game wise going on with Big Fish, including clues and speculations on the upcoming release of the next installment of Mystery Case Files.

The speculation thread that used to be in the Chit Chat Corner moved to FB and the YouTube channel. Yes, I found the beta a few weeks ago, but there seems to be people out there who don't even know when MCF traditionally comes out, and are excited to continue to solve the puzzles that continue to be created to hype the game.

I beta tested Elizabeth Bathory and didn't notice any bugs or glitches - all 3 times I played it so I'm not sure that's the reason for the delay. I disliked the game because if you read the true accounts of the Blood Countess, the game misses everything that would make the game relateable to the true story. Even the game description of "horror" and "terrifying" and "evil" - there is nothing even remotely horrific, terrifying or evil in the beta game. It was plain boring. Sad, because the true accounts of the Blood Countess' story ARE all of those things and more.

As to the sale of BFG. Churchill Downs owns 7 horse racing venues including the well-known Kentucky Derby. Recently, they purchased a F2P gaming venue and realized there was an incredible money-making market in that gaming genre. So, offering upwards of $800 million to BFG because the BFG Casino made so much money for BFG in it's first year of release, Churchill Downs negotiated a cash and stock structure to entice Thelen (founder of BFG) to sell. Thelen will also get a $50 million bonus if he can reach a further income gain in 2 years. If he caps that income gain, he'll be richer than he is now and he's pretty much as rich as Croesus. My fear, and the fear of others I've spoken to, is that now BFG will be focusing on F2P games as opposed to casual games. One major Developer has already stopped developing casual games and has gone strictly to F2P games. Just a few details on the deal. This was all posted in 2 articles I read a few days ago. So, please don't poison PM me.

As to this game: Haunted Legends (which I thought this forum was about), I had a major "bug/glitch" in the beta game (all 3x I played it) and even though I mentioned it in the survey and an email to the Developer, it hasn't been fixed. Had the same problem in this demo and then it bounced me out of the game. Until it's fixed, this is a no purchase for me.

Happy Gaming All!

Oh, and to whomever had the questions re the video. Jessica used to put out a weekly video called "Jessica's Playlist" on uTube which featured all the CE's being released at BFG for that week. It was published every Monday morning. It gave the game descriptions as well. Many people disliked the video for a variety of reasons but I rather enjoyed it.

Now, however, there is a new video released every Monday on BFG's Facebook page called "POND NEWS". It's an amazing video that gives a ton of information such as the new BFG CE game releases for the week (hence, no more "Jessica's Playlist"), other gaming news, sneak peak upcoming releases (such as one in December), contests and give-a-ways, MCF clues for those who are in a speculation thread, and much more.

I love the new video and post all the info on a forum I belong to. The response has been amazing and, so far, people like that they can go to one place and get all the latest and greatest in BFG news.

Happy Gaming everyone!

I think the video is execrable and irritating. Which forum do you post all the info into mrm?

Well, thanks for the preview on that game, mrm. I am sure we are all very interested to know that you found it boring.

On a happier note, just because one person didn't find any bugs and glitches in the beta doesn't mean it's as perfect as it should be for everyone else. After all, today's game "Echoes of the Past" doesn't seem to run so smoothly or rather fast enough for you as it should be. But it runs just fine for others, including myself.

And as for Jessica's Playlist, you are wrong in talking about it in the past tense. Jessica's List is still available every week as well as the new THE POND (not Pond News) video together with Carlos.

Valdy is right, Jessica's Playlist still comes out. The Pond video comes out first in the morning (BF time) and Jessica's Playlist comes out later in the day on Monday.

If you put everything onto a portable hard drive, take it to a new computer, download the Game Manager onto the new computer, and tell it to "Find Games" it will install them. I learned this by accident, but there is a help article on it. The command is in Options on the Downloads tab.

Oh, and what I originally intended to post is that I see we are still deriving from Pushkin, who wrote "The Stone Guest" after seeing Mozart's Don Giovanni. I don't have enough time to track down where the character of Leporello in Mozart comes from, or whether Pushkin included this character in his version (maybe unlikely, since Leporello was a comic character and Pushkin's version was quite serious), but it has to be an in-joke that ERS used this name, since it means "bunny." So far there's none of the play in the game but what the heck.

Well, ERS may have used "Leporello" because it means "Bunny," But there is indeed a Leporello in Mozart's Don G; he's the servant of the sexist pig Don.

Is any of the plot other than the title derived from Pushkin? (I've never read his Stone Guest story.)

P.S. Finally played the demo and bought it today, with the half off sale. But, disappointingly, I couldn't use my game credits to pay. OTOH, that's 4 credits I won't have to buy next month! Merry Christmas to me!

Can someone provide a link to the Big Fish Facebook site? I tried to find it and there are a bazillion (a slight exaggeration) hits that come up when you type in "Big Fish" in friend finder. And no hits for "Big Fish Games". I didn't know there was a Facebook page for Big Fish. Thanks!

I'm sure they picked "Leporello" from Mozart. I would doubt if there was a "Leporello" in Pushkin but there might have been. Maybe we should all be reading Pushkin; if we had read the original Pushkin story "The Queen of Spades" we might not have had to wait till this game to find out what "S.G." stood for. (Or maybe we would - my visualization of the Compte de Saint-Germain is so different from the dwarf I might not have made the connection even with it staring me in the face LOL.)

I would like to know where I can post in regards to Haunted Legends; The Stone Guest because it seems this one has gone off on a different tangent.

I am wondering about a glitch in the bonus game, so if there is a different place to talk about glitches, where might it be?

Many thanks!!
