Thank you very much ... I thought I trid that but I must not have ...

Help!! Does all the gears suppose to turn in the same direction and all turn at the same time. I found this to be highly impossible because there is not enough gears to do that. This little mini game have me stumped more than any of the mini games in any of the books besides the invisible man that one is super bad. I have been trying and trying and trying and just can't get it any help will do as long as it helps me finish this p uzzle.

The gears will only go at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. took me a while to figure that out

I was totally stumped on this one as well laurah65. I just had to play around with the gears till I got them in the right place. I found that getting the top gear to turn in the right direction was my problem. Like prpldva says, it can take while to figure it out - but you'll get there eventually - Promise!!!!

Note the arrows on the stationery posts. The post has to turn in the direction the arrow is pointing.

I finally figured it out and found out what I was doing wrong I guess the best teacher is yourself and a good lesson will be learned. I thank everyone for your tips because they was also a great help cesse47, prestonpinky, prpldva,and whoever else that gave me tips

been playing gears for 3rd day..............seem like not enough gears to reach.....or gears will not drop in a 12,3,6,9 position to move, one game only has 3 gears, impoosible to reach ....................do I have to find other gears....pulling my hair out, can not believe people did this entire game in one night....

I'm having a heck of a time trying to get the mirror from the guy. I have the portrait but can't figure out how to get the mirror. I've tried trading it when the guy is looking at the card in his hand....HELP!

You get the empty mirror frame. then get the picture from the chest and combine the two. Watch the monster look at card, look at mirror. Click on your picture/mirror and hold over the mirror. As soon as he looks at the card, CLICK!!
...This should give you the mirror.

Some of them have two different sizes of gears, big dark brown ones and smaller gray ones. So you might be overlooking the other size of gear.

Thanks to the person who helped me with the gears mini puzzle. The suggestion to place the gears to the right, left, top and bottom worked, and I finished that book. Now the only obstacle is solving the ball in the maze in the Invisible Man book. Slow doesn't work when I get really close to the center; I haven't been able to get my husband to help, and I don't have access to a child right now.

With the gears (meanwhile I am still having problems with the rest, but maybe knowing what to do with the picture in the frame will help). But for the gears, this is difficult to explain, but pay attention to which way the gears turn. Any gear (gear 1) turning clockwise will make a gear (gear 2) that meshes with it go counterclockwise. The next in line (gear 3) will be clockwise, and if there were four, the fourth would be counterclockwise. As you are doing the puzzle, it helps to realize how many gears you need between, say, a large one and a fixed small one. If you think the way I am describing, you automatically know if you need to have one or two small gears between a large and small fixed gear. Maybe I just made things worse, but I hope not. Back to Vulcan!

Like so many of you, I found the 'gears' puzzle impossible - couldn't get them to stick in any of the places I wanted them to. But I solved it in the end. I used one of the bubble-lights to skip the problem!

All my gears are turning.The top (one) is going in wrong direction and(only1 pointing wrong way).Tried all configurations(of gears and it will only turn in oppisite direction can't figure out how to do it.


Never mind! Would'nt you know it I posted,went back gave it one more shot and poof! It worked.(so quickly though,even now i'm not sure of formation of gears)

To find these pictures:
Put the word photobucket in your search engine, I use Google but you can use any search engine. When your search brings up the results just go to the main Photobucket site. On that page there is an Image Search box. Put the two words lizziek photos in that box and search.

It will come back and say “No matches were found to your search request. Are you looking for the Photobucket user lizziek photos? Click here to see this user’s album.” Click on that and you will be on my main page.

Look on the left of the page and you will see the game album names. Click on the album you want. Some of the games also have sub-albums within the game album and they will also be on the left, if there are any available. Click on a picture to enlarge it. You can also print the pictures from photobucket.
