What is the problem if the cursor flickers continuously and disappears alot? Is it a driver issue or a video card issue? It's driving me nuts...

Great game with attention to detail

[Post New]by mycatluna on Feb 11, 10 6:30 AM
I found this game to be refreshing. There have been a string of boring HOGs lately (we've been spoiled by some cutting-edge ones lately) so I was relieved to find a game that was developed with the audience in mind. There is attention to detail in every aspect...even so far as to find a babysitter for your kid before you take off on your adventure. It's those little things that make the gaming experience feel more authentic and real. The scenes were not overly cluttered (a major pet peeve of mine) and the items were to scale (another major pet peeve of mine). I cannot stand games that clutter a room with junk or place pencils in a scene the length of the ceiling. To me, this is lazy development. True game development is shown when objects are hidden in ordinary rooms and ordinary places, but in a clever way. This is one of those games.

There is plenty of interactive gaming, interesting cut scenes that are not overdone, just the right amount of dialogue (with no spelling errors!) so someone actually quality tested the game.(You dedicated HOG gamers out there know this has been a major problem is several other games. ) There are various plots weaving together that are intriguing and keep you involved right up until the very end. The re-playability is high as there are numerous objects within scenes and the list changes with re-play.

The length is also very decent. I lost count of the hours I spent playing this game, which means "expect a long one."

The graphics are crisp even on wide screens (which is what my laptop is). This is also something more developers need to start integrating into their games: wide-screen mode. Crisp graphics can get lost without it.

All in all, this game is worth every penny of the $6.99 if not more. Enjoy, then repeat!

Cheers

I just played the trial. I think I will buy it. It is a change from the gothic stuff i have been playing. the graphics in this one are quite restful on the eyes. The plot is above average. I am only on chapter three but so far I have not had to go to the blog. It seems to be doable without being too easy.

Could not remove the book from the shelf in library of Antiquarian nohow noway. I finally signed out and went in under a new name and things worked fine. I did the tasks exactly in the order they were listed which meant I reached for the 3rd book first of all after putting the books in correct order. Whether this was part of the solution, I don't know, but it worked for me.

Hello.

I did enjoy this game. It had a lovely story line, plenty of scenes, wonderful graphics and all in all very good value for money.

I did encounter a couple of minor glitches, normally if I went on to a mini game BEFORE I had exhausted all the dialogue, but nothing I would cry over.

If anything the mini games were a tad on the easy side.

all they way

Help! Chapter 12 and I found all the items but when I click on the computer it asks for a password and won't go into the puzzle game, Walkthrough says it should be the puzzle game, nothing about a password needed. Almost at the end, really want to finish this, Any solutions people? Thanks.

Hi all, Quite an enjoyable game but plot was a bit 'old hat' with the boss phoning the female 'specialist' and telling her he wants her to go to another location to verify something. OK so her husband had gone missing in Rome the year before, but she didn't look all that distraught. You'd have thought she'd have jumped at the chance of going back to the scene of the disappearance free of charge! AND she had a mother who was going to drop everything to look after her daughter..... well!
I couldn't make out why she'd want to take a bowler hat with her, during the collection of objects in the very first room either..... perhaps it's me but I thought that was rather bizarre.
Have returned to the game after over a year's absence and am going to give it another play anyhow, just for the hell of it.
Love to all, Pat_ric_ia x

Found all the keys, put them in the right place. Pick up gambinoes key and the game shuts down. Even tried skipping the puzzle but it shuts down every time! Second game I've bought that doesn't work! Won't be buying anymore!
