FWIW my cursor was sluggish until I turned off "custom cursor" and now it's running great so far. And my laptop is not exactly a gaming machine.
I've always been amazed by the technical support at for their know-how as well as their kindness

I read through quite a few of the tech problems people had but didn't see the one I ran into, so I thought I'd mention it.
First off, I have 8 gig of ram and a 512 meg video card running Vista 64 bit version. As you can tell from those stats I have a pretty new powerful computer. Being involved with 3D graphics myself, I know how power hunger good graphics can be.
Anyway, the game ran totally smoothly for me both graphics and sound wise. I was as the point in the tower, where I had to repeat the musical pattern of the disks around the griffin. On the second sequence, "boom" an error message popped up. It gave me the option to send the error message, (I assume to the programmers or someone) which I did. I hadn't closed out the game for awhile, so I figured when next I opened it, I would have lost all the progress I'd made for quite awhile.
I'm please to say that several hours later when I went back to the game and started it up, it still had me at the same point! So, other than frustration, I didn't lose anything. I played that part again, just waiting for the other shoe to drop and the game to crash out, but it went along fine from there till the end (which was all too soon).
It's a wonderful game with great voice acting and beautifully drawn graphics. Some of the puzzles were difficult, (even to figure out what one was expected to do) -- but if they were all easy why would any of us play?
Biggest complaint? Too short. I'm looking forward to a sequel for sure.

I was curious so looked through the posts you'd made on the problems. I'd forgotten what the specific error message was that I got when it crashed out on me. Turns out, it was basically the same as you had received (:Too many restores, exiting Game ). I remember thinking at the time, "say what?? I haven't done too many restores, that are they talking about?"
I don't know if that is considered a generic response or is supposed to actually mean something. I've done an awful lot of alpha/beta testing of software (although 3d graphic software, not games) and that is the first time I remember running into that error message.

bfgErie wrote:Please note that the free demo version of Drawn: The Painted Tower ™ is different than our other demo's. While there is still a timer, in this free demo you will only be able to play a portion of the game. If you purchase the full version of the game, you will be able to play the entire game.
The game download page is misleading. It has the usual message: "Play a sample version FREE for one hour." If BFG is suddenly going to change the policy, the least they could do is change the wording on the download page to indicate this. A simple line reading, "Please note that this demo ends at the conclusion of Chapter 2...[whatever]" would cut down on confusion.
Based on what I played, I was thinking about cashing in a credit for the full version of the game - until I got to the abrupt "Oh, let us show you an ad for the game, then dump you out of it without explanation."
Now I'm not sure if I want to support what I feel was a misleading tactic. My gut reaction was to be suspicious about the rest of the game - I couldn't help wondering: did BFG reduce the demo time (yes, they did, however they want to phrase it) because they feared people would finish in an hour or less?
Apologies if this wording sounds a bit strong. Confusion and frustration will do that.

I just purchased Drawn and I am having the very same issues as ZenPoet...you're not alone! I have done everything BFG suggests! Still no luck. Hope tech service finds the problem.

Are the game programmers and tech support trying to change the game somehow so that we can all enjoy the game? Is there going to be a patch or update to the game?

OK, here's a new one. I get the stone heart from the Witch Doctor and apply it to the carving of Iris, I get the needle and thread, the bridge appears and then collapses, I go down to the tree and sew it up, I get in and solve the spider puzzle, I get the can and return to the Witch Doctor for the potion--and when I then return to the tree, it's now torn again.
But wait, there's more. I can't progress in the game so I exit. And then when I restart it, I'm back where I started from, at the Witch Doctor painting with the stone heart in inventory. No matter what I do, I'm in an endless loop. I tried exiting right after applying the stone heart to Iris, and when I reopened the game, there it is in inventory again. Seems like the game has stopped registering my progress.
I've e-mailed BFG support but am wondering if anyone else has run into this problem.

No one replied to my post so I'm posting again.. am I the only one with this problem? Nvm I fixed it =)
