Try using the silicon spray around the manhole cover edges until one of the detective says that there is no more spray on it, then use the manhole cover key to open it

This was driving me crazy, the amount of time I spent spraying. Untl I realized that I needed to put the red spray button along the edge of the cover, not the actual spray. Hope this helps

Thank you so much for the nozzle placement tip. This is exactly the kind of glitch that makes me hate a game.

Okay guys, I understand making the manhole cover hard to open while playing
the game in the one hour free mode (so that it will eat up the clock, making you to
buy the game). But, after buying the game 25 minutes of spraying the manhole cover? Come on guys be fair.

Use the cursor tip around the cover, between it and the fitting. Draw a circle ...

Thank you Deztiny1076...I knew someone had to have the answer.

I sprayed for quite a while using all sorts of patterns. I even sprayed around the perimeter with no results until I put the red sprayer tip around the rim as you suggested...finally that worked.

TY TY TY!!!!
