Re:Mystery Case Files – Speculations, Ponderings, and more!

[Post New]by Rainbow722 on Nov 9, 10 8:54 AM
In the beginning picman sent us a short post
Solice told us how to get of information the most
Then in the next post picman sent us a red herring
Telling us his information would not have much bearing
In fact, picman said his info would be far less compelling
Since then are spending a lot of time analyzing spelling
We've done algebra, physics and number crunching
Through the days and nights and even while lunching
Ever searching for an elusive clue
While waiting for a hint to come from you!

We've searched dictionaries, the net, universe and map
Some have asked friends, hoping some information to tap
Net search engines must wonder at the search of these things
Now I know Uranus spins backwards and has eleven rings!
And about " 11 legs" we wondered if real legs or steps in a journey
Tributaries, members, lighthouse stilts or part of a bingo tourney?
Dogmama wondered if in a swamp 6 MCF detectives of master
Who ran backwards after one lost a leg in an alligator disaster
Ever searching for an elusive clue
While waiting for a hint to come from you!

Many of us are thinking we should learn to say uh-CHA-fuh-lei-uh
But picman, solice, would be nice to hear confirmation from ya
Couldn't you tell us if we are on the wrong or right track, please?
Adding 'latin' to 11 legs, backwards and moving is such a tease!
And "to those in the Bronx" is like splitting one small hair
Ninety-nine point nine of us haven't even been close to there!
We've figured out 13 and skull and guessed at ghosts
Our heads are exploding and brains feel like milk-toast
Ever searching for an elusive clue
While waiting for a hint to come from you!

A waterwheel is usually placed in a stream or river to generate electricicity or to run a mill to grind flour. The power of the water ensures the wheel never stops. Unless it breaks, lol.

True... Very interesting indeed.. It was a thought

Re the paddle steamers - wouldn't a paddle wheel or mill wheel be more likely to have an even number of spokes and paddles, rather than an odd number (11) ?

Currently it's only 8:50 AM in Seattle. Picman needs time to get into the office, drink some coffee, read the hundreds of the posts, check up on sales figures and status updates, then we'll get some clues. Today for sure.

Uhmm that's actually true I think I've been too demanding this time. With so many riddles and MCF games I actually forgot he's a real person Only 9 am there?? Here it's 5 pm already, so good luck with your mornings! Greeting from Europe, btw!
Well, I hope picman enjoys his coffee

I was just wondering....we don't have a name "officially"....the MCF website hasn't been updated...we haven't had any new clues recently, or feedback on what we have figured out with reguard to the 3rd clue...has anyone even beta'd this game yet?

Lady Cav, i agree, should be an even number for the spokes or legs as it were. Maybe they built it with twelve but had to adjust the wheel size when they put it in the river? So maybe 11 was the final number? Or maybe the 11 and latin plays into the name of the wheel? Just guessing here.

Sullyr, the release date is Thanksgiving.
dmdonnag, the betas for Dire Grove didn't go out until mid-November last year, so it's possible it hasn't been beta'd yet.

If they have, they most likely would not be talking about it.

I did some research on eleven... here's what I got:

It's the number of spacetime dimensions in M-theory.

The approximate periodicity of a sunspot cycle is 11 years (and it doesn't stop running! )

The number eleven is important in numerology, as it is the first of the Master Numbers.

Being only one hour before 12:00—midnight—the eleventh hour means the last possible moment to take care of something, and often implies a situation of urgent danger or emergency

In Astrology, Aquarius is the 11th astrological sign of the Zodiac.

But I don't think any of these are relevant... :/

2 days off work, so I've been trying to do my homework all day! I've got 619 words of a maximum 1000 written (minimum 700), but I've got stuck again.
I'm no good at short stories, I prefer novellas!

i still think "13th Skull" is only part of the title. I think "PC" figures into the rest. Or PC could just mean "Private and Confidential" as someone suggested.*shrug*

I prefer novellas too! Good luck with that :/ My usual problem is going wayyy past the maximum limit, but sometimes it happens that I don't know what to write and I'm below the limit, and that is as bad as going over the bar Doesn't homework stink?

Nope! Many of us are obsessively checking both the BF blog and the MCF sites though!

@ NONONONONO No news from picman--he is probably busy finishing the game. this is NOT a case of "no news is good news"

I called every person I knew in southern Louisiana. They told me I was crazy looking for clues about a game.lol.Talked to my great aunt in houma and she told me the story about skull island on Mermentau river with the slave captain abandoning the 200 slaves(which I already read about).I think someone mentioned this already but she also told me about the folklore of Jean Lafitte burying treasure and then killing one of the men so that they could watch over it.I love the way she talks.Told her I wanted some gumbo and she said"Sha, you just come on down here".She said some other things but I didn't quite catch it..lol.We need to find answers about Louisiana, I am your girl. But you want cryptograms and math equations solved,It looks like you all are doing a great job so I will leave that to the smart fishies.
