Can't get Egyptologist to accept the papyrus

Cannot get to safe because Egyptologist will not accept papyrus. Help!?!! (please)

First click on the Egypt dude and talk to him. Then click on the wall and he will ask for the papyrus. Then give it to him.

I have the same problem. Doesn't matter what I do he won't take the papyrus.
