Cannot get the figure of the Sax Player to move on the Iron door

Well I messed up on this portion of chapter Three and cannot go any further.
I inserted the Key first then tried to reposition the Sax Figurine and nothing happens. Cannot skip this or move ahead any further. Don't tell me I have to start this game all over again????? Any advise on how to get through this and move on to Chapter Four???

Thanks Dragonlady for the tip. I finally made it out the gate. Figured out what the candle was for and got the projector to work.

I hope you have managed to get past this stage by now, but just in case you are still stuck here, I checked the WT (it has been a long time since I played this myself) and it would seem that you do need to insert the key first to start the puzzle.
Have you checked the diary? You should have seen a movie of how the sax player moves when you fixed the projector.
If you haven't fixed the projector, back out of the puzzle and do this first.
